During a meeting one of the players was distracted and had his tablet out. Gundy took the tablet and read it aloud for everyone. Apparently it had the N-word in it a couple of times and he read those as well.

I have a feeling there may be more to the story, but that's what's out so far.

Pretty lame. I understand he shouldn't have said it...I definitely wouldn't and wouldn't even slip just a little on that but the context is pretty obvious.

I like how Tupac described taking ownership of that word but my god...some of the music these days use it like the word THE.

But yet they are and are going to continue doing so. I see no way the liv players don’t win this in court.

They are because the goal is to make a splash and injure the PGA. Any asshole can front 500 million on a bad investment for that reason but maintaining that prize pool will be impossible.

The goal is to give Saudi Arabia any positive publicity. Not saying I agree with it but the pga wants to have its cake and eat it too. They will have to give in in this I think.

Meh. If they didn't fight and just rolled over that would be even worse

Like I said 500 mil or a billion for a year and lose your ass is one thing. That has no legs.

These guys will end up right back in the PGA in 2 years.

Oh that’s possible but I can’t blame them for taking life changing money. Mickelson over $200 million, Dechambeau $130 million, Johnson $120 million. The Saudis literally have an endless supply of money.

Yeah, it's nonsense. If he was chewing a player out and called him that, then yeah...he's gotta go.

But reading something that someone else wrote? And apparently song lyrics that pretty much all of the players have likely heard?

That's ridiculous and why I'm thinking there has to be more to this.

It's a hugely lucrative investment fund. But it's not lucrative by backing shitty investments.

it is insane how much money they have.

publicly- Elon Musk is the worlds richest person- but in reality I doubt he is top 20.

I think the court has to rule tomorrow on the 3 players lawsuit to get to play in the fedex cup. They qualified for it, I can’t see them not getting a favorable ruling.

Lakers = no talented players 25 or younger

Cavs = 6 talented player 25 or younger

Cavs would not trade Okoro or Agbaji for any 3 of the young guys on the Lakers. Really- pretty much none of the Laker young guys have any value.
I kinda like Reaves, Swider and Pip jr.

I can agree they have little value in the sense that they don't make enough to bring back a difference maker.

JTA, Bryant were really good value signings.

Especially Bryant if he's healthy.

Jones is a good fit too.

But, Brown Jr, Walker and THT are hot garbage.

At some point, upside needs to translate to actually playing well.

I still cannot believe they used their mid level on Walker Jr.

He's basically THT 2.0, which isn't a compliment.

So, you would have to be insane to have any combination of Walker/Brown/Westbrook/THT on the floor at the same time.

They have to make a trade for shooting to help this roster make sense.

Outside of Swider, who can burn down the nets, LeBron is probably their best 3 PT shooter.

That's pretty gross.

To paraphrase the Poet known as 2Pac Shakur....

N-gg-ers hang from trees with ropes around their necks.

N-gg-as hang at the club with platinum ropes around their necks.

That small distinction makes a big difference.

So, I'd be interested to know which one he used.

That hard double G with the ers on the end is a ass whooping waiting to happen in certain circles.

As far as rap music is concerned, they won't all nationalities to buy their records.

But, get triggered if they repeat all the words.

Hmmmmmm

Slightly hypocritical?

Yes.

But, that's just the way it is.

Ps. Gundy should have known better in this climate.

You just know kids rapping along repeat the double g a in a circle of friends or a car ride. I'm sure I've repeated the lyrics once or twice (possibly from Pac himself) back in the day.

So I can only assume that's what happened here and in that sense it's why I'm a little taken aback by him getting fired over it. But I also agree it's totally unacceptable in any professional environment.

I guess my side comment is how it's gone from a word to accentuate a point or at most a greeting to its literally uttered in every other word in rap lyrics and in some of my employees and customers verbiage. It bothers me even as someone who doesn't have ownership of the word ( to again reference the greatest rapper ever)
