Better roster, yet you conveniently keep forgetting that Kawhi missed 22 games during the regular season. You think the Raptors record improves just slightly if he played in 75-82 games?
I don't forget it at all. He played 60 games. Know how many he played the year before for the Toronto team that won more games?

The Warriors in 2016. We saw how that worked out.

And they're not a championship team. But you understand because you're a Lakers fan and when your team was in contention, didn't really put much stock into regular season wins/losses.

No, I asked a question designed to hopefully show you how important talent is in the NBA that you'd dismiss a "far better coach" for the more talented roster. And that "far better coach" also did not have the Lebron obstacle Casey had.

Fair point to suggest you'd want Nurse over Casey but to compare the jobs they did in their roles as HC is not really close to apples/apples.
I'll take talent over coaching any day.

Can't recall the last championship team that cared about their regular season record.
A lot of Hindsight Guys today.

sure, after winning the title they don't care, but during the season they do. why did east teams fight so hard for seeding this year if they didn't care?

How about Toronto beating Milwaukee in 4 straight? That's 1 win away from beating GS?

So again, since I answered your question - do you think Kawhi being out 22 games in the regular season might have something to do with them probably not matching their regular season record from last year?
Yes, I do......but with 60 more games from kawhi than the previous year doesn't that give them an advantage? Never mind the additions of Green and then Gasol?

Zero. What's your point?
That the team with 60 games of Kawhi should have a better record than the one with zero when the rest of the team is very similar.

Never mind adding Danny Green then Gasol with an emerging Siakam.

Yep. A team might care if they think they can get there, but are inexperienced and maybe feel that they need HCA. But once they get some experience under the belts, it's about getting there healthy.

Who would've thought that your best player (and arguably in the league) not being available for a quarter of the season would have a negative impact on your regular season record. Who knew?

Hilarious heatles liked this as though it proved his point but did the opposite. The raptors are not a team that had ever been to the Finals and could not take anything for granted....they wanted the highest seed they could get.

Not exactly the cavs or GS who were seasoned and proved they can win road games. Or the Lakers of the past.

Dude, the Raptors last year had a record of 59-23. This year's team had a record of 58-24. One fucking game. You're still missing your best player while trying to add in new pieces to fit the offense and defensive systems. You showed your ass on this argument, because to have this many new pieces (Gasol was acquired midway through the year) and still post a record that was just one game off actually proves my point; especially when Leonard wasn't there for a quarter of the season.

Yet the guys that they added (Kawhi and Danny Green) had been to the Finals multiple times and won a championship while playing for one of the best coaches in Popovich; whom they saw put such little stock into the regular season.

Your arguments are getting very feeble and is very similar to a boxer that's on the ropes about to get knocked out.

And also, if you're going to call me out, grow some hair on your chest and tag me next time. K, thanks.

if it wasn't for you taking the other side and "liking" this comment......"Yep. A team might care if they think they can get there, but are inexperienced and maybe feel that they need HCA. But once they get some experience under the belts, it's about getting there healthy.."

so does this team have experience or not.

I should just sit back and watch you kick your own ass.

you are all over the place....they are experienced...no, wait, they aren't experienced.

As I said, I can just watch you go at it with yourself.

If you can get HCA then go for it if it's in reach. But recognize the end game.

Actually, it doesn't prove the opposite.

The Raptors organization had never been to the finals. However, their best player has and has won, same with one of their important role players. They also have Gasol who has been to the playoffs and guys like Lowry, who hasn't been to the finals, but has been to the playoffs several times.

My point was more about a young team with little experience.
