I don't have an issue. I'm only saying given the choice I'd take Casey and the current roster over Nurse and last year's roster. Wouldn't you?

Good point about Durant and the 2017 Warriors vs. 2016 reg. season.

I can see that. Casey does have more head coaching experience & was an assistant starting in the mid 90's. Maybe w/ the Raptors Casey just took them as far as he could? Granted this years team is the best version of the franchise ever. But I'm not going to take that away from Nurse. The Raptors needed a change. And he obviously was a great choice.

Draymond used every bit of his 7' 1" wingspan. Clutch defensive play.

I really wish he'd cut his on court antics out. He's a damn good player & anyone that wouldn't want a player w/ that kinda skill set on their team is crazy. I usually root for all players from the BigTen (except anyone from ann arbor) but his dumbbell behavior makes it tough at times.

So smart and so stupid at the same time. It would be so Draymond of him to play huge in the next game, help the Warriors win, and then be suspended for Game 7 because of a silly technical foul.

If I'm Durant and the Warriors, I'd look at this potential scenario:

1) Durant opt-in to his contract this year. Creates a bit of room under the luxury tax which helps with their acquisitions this year. Durant gets the full staff and resources at his disposal with absolutely no expectation to play the year out. Basically, it's compensating Durant for his recovery and what he did for the team in Game 5 (and previously).

2) The Warriors extend Durant past the opt-in with a super max deal extension at 4 years.

3) The Warriors and Durant have a wink/nod agreement that KD would like to be traded the following off-season to his preferred destination. Compensation would have likely to have multiple 1st round picks, but those would be throw aways to any team that KD went to most likely as their draft picks will probably be in the mid to late 20's. It's also coincidentally the same year that AD is a free agent.

4) Worst case scenario is that teams may not want Durant after the injury, which might result in him staying with the Warriors. In that case, say he's only 75% of the player he was pre-injury, he's still going to be a very good player. That shot won't go away, it'll be his mobility more than anything. He can still be utilized on the perimeter and in the mid/low post and just get buckets. Defensively will be where he might struggle. The Warriors have him and Steph locked up for the next 4 years going forward and hopefully lock up Klay too. That should at least give them another run or two at a title.

Kind of a win-win for everyone. Durant get's paid and the Warriors take care of their own. He gets first dibs on looking for a preferred destination in 2020 and if he doesn't like what he sees he can stay with the Warriors and try to compete for more titles.

I didn't read any of this. just kidding Thumbs up.

Relatable. He'd probably be a guy I would hate if he wasn't on my team. Would respect him, but hate him nonetheless.

Never thought about him getting T'd up again. That's gotta be a frustrating thought for all you real Warriors fans. Because it very well could happen.

Coaches just overthink things too much sometimes. And that's what Nurse did last night. Ur team had all the momentum, the building was shaking, the warriors were fading, and then u called a timeout to give YOUR players a breather:doh:. No, you let the warriors call a timeout!

I think Nurse actually called two timeouts there. I remember he called timeout and then there were commercials. Then the broadcast returned again for just five seconds before more commercials. That rest for Curry and Klay might have really helped out their three point shot. More energy to get open and fresher legs to launch the shots.

So stupid of him to get that T and put himself on the precipice of suspension. Just got to get through Game 6 with a win and no technical foul for Draymond.

He goes into dumbell mode too often. I was keeping count last night & he committed 8 total fouls. Yet he didn't foul out. How does that happen? I still would want him on the Celtics though.

The original injury was his calf, not the achilles. However, that calf weakness contributed to the achilles tear.
No. If it was the calf, which is a muscle, it would have been injured on an "explosion" type move such as when you leap off the ground, not like a tendon "Achilles" that hurts 4 or five steps later on. Why the Warriors lied about it, I cannot explain, but they did. The alternative, that their medical staff is completely incompetent staff is simply not believable.
I said as soon as I saw the original injury that it was Achilles related and obviously I was correct.

I have to think with 2016 on his mind he won't get another. If he does, buh bye, trade him

You know me I've been neutral & just wanna see a darn good series. But it wouldn't bother me if Dray gets T's up during game 6.:heh:

That won't happen though. He'll play by the rules for at least game 6. A question about getting T'd up. If he hits the limit during game 7 does he keep playing or is he ejected?

So one more T and he is suspended for a game? He is going to suffocate to the death for one full game if can't open up his big, fat mouth.

I basically think KD played due to peer pressure

I wonder if the cupcake talk and questioning of his legacy by fans were factors. I really wish he didn't care about that stuff and that he didn't engage with fans on social media.

Keeps playing from what I understand, and it doesn't carry over to next season. Of course, if he gets 2 T's in game 7, then he's ejected.

You mean like when Nurse called a foolish TO?

Never mind you like Nurse so much more you said you'd rather have Casey and THIS roster than Nurse and last year's team.

McFly?

You know, it's certainly plausible that the Raptors upgraded their roster AND their coach at the same time. So Nurse called a foolish timeout, does that mean he's a horrible coach because of one mistake? And yes, first and foremost you get by on talent in this league. If I can switch out Kawhi for Rozan, upgrade the center position, have an improved Siakam who's developed more, and Danny Green I'll take it. But I'd still take Nurse over Casey in a heart beat.

You basically asked a question that had no middle ground, and that's your own fault. Of course talent is what gets you by in this league. If you don't have a coach to bridge it together, you're still fucked.

Regressing? Before I say anything I wanna make sure I got the right topic. You talking about the Raptors winning less regular season games than last year?

People put way too much stock in the regular season. Also, I guess we'll ignore that Kawhi Leonard missed 22 games this year as well during the regular season. But hey, they won less games in the regular season so they're a worst version than last year's team.

It would serve the Warriors right if Durant took the player option for 31.5 mil and waited til next year for free agency. The Warriors would be out that money and have no player because he's done for most if not all of next year.
They knew goddamn well that the original injury was achilles and not a "mild calf starin" and they let him go out there and aggravate it further.

Thankfully, you're a real fan.

Also, GS still has Durant's bird rights. On top of that, GS doesn't have room for any other FA given that their roster is tied up in other players right now like Klay (who's about to get $30+ mil per year). Nevermind, I'm not going to break it down further for you.
