The only reason LaRoche is hitting there is to break up the righties in the lineup so that it creates matchup issues later in the game. They'd love it to go Span, Werth, Harper, Zimmerman, Laroche, Desmond, Rendon, Ramos, Pitcher...but Span sucking really kills that. Still righty heavy at the back end, but with Espinosa's switch hitting bat not there, not much can be done.
