Twitter + NASCAR. Doesn't get much more pathetic than that.

Since the chase and that new car. Nascar is not worth watching.

I don't understand what is pathetic.... are you saying the fans on Twitter are pathetic in saying it's a conspiracy theory? Or are you saying you believe it was a conspiracy, and that's why NASCAR is pathetic?

I think it's pathetic to think Jr, in race 1 of the Chase, blew his engine on purpose. It would benefit he and his company so much more if he would have finished the race and still been in championship contention...

lol at those twitter comments. In a sport where sponsorship is getting harder and harder to find, and with what just recently happened with NAPA and MWR, do you REALLY think Hendrick and Jr would risk that by purposefully blowing up? Especially on a team that just until recently didn't have full sponsorship coverage for the rest of the season.

I remember when Harry went and checked Cole's tachometer and could tell if the engine was blown on purpose. WE NEED HARRY WORKING AS A NASCAR OFFICIAL.

If NASCAR didn't insist on using 1970s engine technology, they wouldn't have 'a blown engine' be that common of an occurrence in the first place.

Yeah this is stupid. Nascar needs Junior to run up front. No way is this even remotely plausible.

This sport is dead and it is just a matter of time when the few straglers that go to the tracks stop going because the product is so boring and the cost to go to the track outweighs any value of entertainment which we are almost there.

What is pathetic is the fact these people believe Jr would blow his motor intentionally. And more so pathetic after the bullshit with MWR... I mean if anyone had any thoughts of doing such stupid shit the penalties would make anyone of the drivers think twice!!!!

Really BNAPZ. How long have you been following NASCAR? I have been following it since I was 7 which was 50 years ago. Now I am sure you are going to provide me some "education" here?

Really 70s technology? Pushrod OHV engines have been around since 1949, and carburetors have been around since the late 1800's. I would suggest that while the technology has been around for some time doesn't mean that it is necessarily 'old'. However, getting upwards of 850 HP out of these engines is definitely pushing the envelope, competition is fierce among these motor builders. It is inevitable that some motors are going to blow.

In contrast, with about half the HP, how many restrictor plate motors blow?

Then engines were converted to fuel injected last year. It was the so-called increase in technology. The carburetors are gone.
