I do like the fact the Lions won this game. In past years Brees takes the Saints down for a winning field goal. I think the team is starting to have an identity other than the same old Lions!

This was easily the most satisfying part for me. To completely shut down Drew Brees when they absolutely had to with nearly 2 minutes left. The SOL never did that sort of thing. They didn't even threaten and did absolutely nothing except for Brees' 4th down scramble.

Staff wasn't bad considering the OL still sucks. He missed a couple easy ones he should have hit but that's who he is. I missed the 1st couple of minutes including the pick that apparently was his fault. On the other pick whatshisnutz shouldn't have even been on the field to have the opportunity to practice the tip drill with the NO DBs... it almost looked like a damn lateral. Tate was great. Bell looked good in spurts. Fuller, Ross and even Grew had their moments, which reminds me... I want to see more Grew. He was one of the few bright spots the 2nd half of last season and he's been MIA this season. What's up with that ? But we simply need a healthy Calvin to compete with the best. Hopefully we can get past the Falcons with less than our best next week and he'll come back at 100% after the bye. The jury is still out on Prater. Clank from 21 yards ? :wtf2:

Stafford needs to throw the 15-25 yard routes to keep the safeties from cheating up and the LBs to not be so quick to jump the wheel routes and screens.

I like the fact Tate can take a 3 yard pass 75 yards but the offense needs to be more than vanilla to not loose these games.

I do like the fact the Lions won this game. In past years Brees takes the Saints down for a winning field goal. I think the team is starting to have an identity other than the same old Lions!

This why I am liking what success they are getting with CJ gone. CJ back and safeties stay honest. Those routes should be there. I am thinking CJ's absence has got the first year OC out of sorts. Sure most his early planning was based around him.

CJ hurt may have more blessings in disguise than thought about.

I agree. Hopefully Stafford is building some trust/chemistry with Fuller and Tate, and doesn't revert to throwing jump balls into double coverage when Calvin is back.

There's no way Tyson would've caught any Stafford passes. Are you crazy? The way he passes would make him automatically drop it somehow...

Here's a run-down of what happened:

Stafford had some good and some bad. Second half was better.

Bush didnt do much and Bell made a few plays. Run game still bad.

The OL was bad with run blocking and Stafford was still pressured and sacked.

The Wr struggled to get open consistently but made plays when they had to.

The DL couldn't get to Brees until late in the game. They distroyed the run game.

LBs struggled a bit at times.

The secondary had some issues outside of Quins pick.

Prater almost missed from 21.

This is just karma making up for the Buffalo choke game. Now the team win-loss record reads what it should read.

I'll take it, but it was a gift from a team who choked.

I have been wanting to read his pure comedic gold excuses. Need to see how the rise back to relevance worked out?

My thoughts. Tate is amazing. Fuller huge in fourth-quarter. Lions defense dominant. Besides the drive to begin second half they were great again. Wtf is up with kicking in det games? Sean Payton is a tool. Oline needs help.

So anyhow I have one burning question about the coaching this game. Why in the hell was thompson their what fourth string guy off the street even in catching passes in the red zone? That was a huge mistake by the coaching staff. Just boggles my mind that broyles is that bad apparently that this guy was more in their game plan. Wtf did broyles do? I wish they played he guy, as good as fuller was to finish the game, I think broyles is a better WR.

I think he slapped Caldwell and Lombardis wives. Or slept with them. Something happened.

I've probably been the biggest Broyles supporter on here.

And even though he is 100% now, I think what we are seeing is that Broyles at 100%, is about 80% of what it used to be.

Holy shit, now I need that algebra from 28 years ago.

100% now of his prior 100% is 80% and not 20%

IMO his 80 is better than Ross' 110...

Maybe the coaching staff is letting him get stronger.

Broyles has worked his butt off more than once to rehab and get back in shape for football. How has that worked out for him in the past?

Maybe his timetable isn't working.

Or is he half the man he used to be?

Should he take time, with a wounded hand?

Broyles looked real damn good to me in preseason action. (Didn't watch game 4). Id just like Caldwell to tell me why he's not out there more.

Maaaaan, I was just listening to that on my way to work today. It hadn't popped up on my shuffle in a long time. Was glad it did finally.
