I was just gonna post, just give the cup to pitts... geez, how did they have all that cap space?!?

The Pens are going all out but they are getting much older with these deals. Iggy is a great star, no doubt, but at nearly 36 years old, hes not the same guy as he was when he scored 50 goals in 07-08. He's like billy guerin was when we got him and I am not confident that the go-for-it-all strategy of paying top dollar for old guys is the best way to win the new NHL. I would not be suprised to see the pens flop, particularly given that their D with Murray is worse than without. Think about that one avs team of years ago: Kariya, Selanne, Forsberg, Sakic, Hejduk, and tanguay all in their primes. It was a crazzzzy stacked team, but they got beat by Sj because its a team sport and a good system is more key. Do iggy and murray know and fit into their system???

Either way, I'm happy not to face iginla until the finals.

I think when they traded away Staal and ZMichalek in the offseason and tried to sign Suter, but failed, they were left with a bunch of cap space which allowed them to make the Iginla trade. Pens aren't F'in around now.

So he's at about a net -4 right now because I swear it seems like he scored 5 goals into the Sharks own net this season.
