Ive really liked what I have seen in Diaz his last couple of outings too. He seems to have that competitive fire that I don't think was there early on. He had it in the WBC, but then it was like he started the season as if he didn't have to try and was getting lit up. My confidence is raising a bit with him.

When you look up and find Gallardo and Miranda are at the top of your rotation and the only names you even recognize.

Decimated rotation is an understatement.

Two things I have noticed this year;

1- Valencia for a veteran is really excitable when he gets a hit. Though he has sucked most of the year, I really do enjoy his excitement. He is always looking to the dugout with a huge smile and some sort of hand gestures. The game should be fun and players should show it.

2- Ruiz seems like a great guy. Teammates love him and his old teams fans just go nuts for the guy. A true professional and love the pickup for him.

Appears to be turning things around now. Pitching still scares me but it seems the guys on offense are about to get hot.

It's good to see Valencia finally picking it up... hoping he can keep it until.

Uh, not sure what team you've been watching but the guys on offense have been hot for a bit.... it's our terrible pitching thanks to injuries across the board (which should've been ZERO surprise) and a bottom 5 relief pitching group that needs to heat up :)

I know exactly what games i've been watching... the main issue isn't getting men on base. They have a ton of guys that can get on base. Evident of that since they are ranked 6th in the majors.

The issue is what they've done after those men are on base.
Ranked 28th by averaging 16.06 men left on base per game.

Ranked 29th by averaging 3.97 men left w/RISP per game.

And in retrsopect to what i was saying... despite hitting well, they were still struggling w/RISP
the team is near DEAD LAST in that department. I should've worded that better when saying they're getting hot. They are getting hot w-risp

Slugging % and slugging on base %. They are still in the middle of the pack.

As I said, the past few games are a product of what they can do offensively if every thing clicked. Despite struggling with men on base, this team is still top 10 in hitting and RS.

You're welcome to browse the link below for details.

Overall, i agree with what you say, offense shouldn't be an issue we knew that coming in from spring training. It's up to the pitching to not blow the it for the offense.

Nelson Cruz signed a 1 year deal with Baltimore in 2014 for $8M. I have to imagine Cruz would have been worth at least 1 win to that team. I wish we could have seen that pitching staff in the playoffs.

And now at 17-17 they have finally caught up after that abysmal start. Not bad considering the injuries, but because of those injuries and a brutal stretch coming up I don't expect to stay above .500 for long. Please go out and prove me wrong guys.
