I love watching an M's game, but it pains me to see us marching a DH hitter to the plate who is near .000 and a career .160 batter.

2 guys in our starting line up combined .059 ( adding their batting averages together !! )

Civale was nearly a 5 ERA guy last year despite him shutting us out last week.

Yes it was a good game with plenty of hits and well timed hits ( risp )

Hopefully they can feed off that game 1 win and save face on this road trip, and instill some confidence back into the fan base.

They may have looked OK on paper ( not great, but OK ) but I need to see some good baseball before I am on board with believing we have a post season contending team 2023.

Show me:

1. steady offensive avg 4-5 runs a game ( with very very few 1-2 run games in the mix )
2. Solid outings from our starters getting into the 5-6th frame and giving us a chance to win a ball game
3. Our relievers need to sack up and start pissing on some line ups and establishing dominance
4. Our defense need to be just that ... DEFENSE ( make all the regular plays ) The spectacular plays are so random, just make the routine plays
5. Situational awareness on the base paths. there is a time to be aggressive and a time to play station to station, KNOW the difference

I could go on and on, but give me those 5 most nights and always at least 4 of 5 every night
