i think there's a strong chance that hitters know exactly what's coming. the number oft times per game i can see when he's setting up the splitter grip on camera is insane.
I think he does that on every pitch then either keeps it or changes it during windup. Old school move.i think there's a strong chance that hitters know exactly what's coming. the number oft times per game i can see when he's setting up the splitter grip on camera is insane.
Need more bullpen arms to hold all the leads they never have. How many more pitchers will they pickup before the trade deadline?
It's kind of all they do.
Not going to happen because winning isn't the goal of the organization and they are more than meeting their actual goals. At what point does someone get fired? I don’t get how we can continue to do the same thing at the plate and nobody is held responsible. Only the Mariners would have a top rotation and then match it up with a historically bad lineup. Man they suck!
The club took full control of ROOT Sports on January 1, 2024, after Warner Bros. Discovery divested its interest in the network. The forecasted increase in expenses of running the RSN has led to the Mariners trading key pieces this offseason in an effort to shed payroll.
Well they somehow couldn’t look into the future to see that cable was dying. Hopefully they learned and realize that the Sonics return is going to cut into those profits hardcore. Not going to happen because winning isn't the goal of the organization and they are more than meeting their actual goals.
They are one of the more profitable teams in baseball.

They had an operating income of $86m in 23 and $76m in 24.
From the Forbes link above:
Forbes has them ranked as the 13th overall most valuable franchise in baseball. When you factor in debt to income and all other factors, they are meeting their goals based off market size.
We can all scream until we have no voice left, but it will continue to fall on deaf ears in the organization.
They don't even try to hide their priorities as it is. That 54% comment and others clearly show what they care about.
As long as the team keeps bringing in profits they have no incentive to spend to make more. We are tuning in, going to games, and buying merch at too high of a clip to force their hand and winning isn't in the culture from the top down enough to just randomly win with a mediocre team.
They likely will have another spell at some point this year where the dreck they have at the plate heat up enough to have a winning streak that once again has the team apologists saying "See! We told you so!" and "Don't bother jumping back on the bandwagon if you didn't drink the kool aid all along!" and of course will struggle again and probably come up just short of the playoffs where those voices once again find some excuse to pitch on the team's behalf.
They do just enough to keep a bunch of saps believing that this year is going to be different! It's going to work this time! and we've seen the results in how much undeserved fan spending comes as a result.
54% has a lot more meaning to them. Do just enough to keep us on the hook to bring in profits. Not more, don't risk higher payrolls that might not pay off enough in wins to substantially raise more income to cover it. Play it safe and stay in that profit pocket.
