I'll say the pressure on these pitchers is tremendous since we don't score runs. These guys have to be thinking they have to make the perfect pitch every pitch and when 1 goes bad it gets into their heads.
That is exactly right and I think that is why it is easy to predict guys like Gilbert giving up a couple around the 6th. You can only hold back the damn for so long. I don't blame Gilbert. 2 runs over 6 or 7 I will take all day long. Dipoto as a former pitcher should understand that.
Agreed! I'll never blame our starters giving up 2 or 3 runs in 6 or 7 innings of work. 1 thru 9 need to find ways to get on base and score.
