all in all a good win. i''m not as down on the pen as others on here. even less on ty france.

i think i believe it when divish says it's an organizational decision regarding keeping starters' (Woo especially since his lengthy IL stint) pitch counts down, not necessarily servais's. and servais is a company man so he'll take the hit for it, but i'm betting he's going to ask them to reconsider.

Pitchers of the 90's and before are laughing their collective asses off about that. Nolan Ryan throws a 200+ pitch no-hitter and doesn't get hurt until his final start at age 40-something.

Servais said Woo was dealing with some “arm stuff” early in the week and didn’t throw his midweek bullpen. So they were going to keep him on a shorter pitch count

Woo said he just didn't feel great coming out of his start and mentioned his last few starts working every fifth day. He's looking forward to the extra day of rest before his next start.

Not all is good in Baltimore:

Orioles general manager Mike Elias informed the media that both left-hander John Means and right-hander Tyler Wells will undergo elbow surgery. Each player will be undergoing ulnar collateral ligament repair, but it’s not known if either will be full Tommy John surgery or the internal brace alternative. In either case, both players are now set to miss the remainder of the season. Roch Kubatko of MASNsports.com was among those to relay the news.
