I have never seen a manager try so hard to get a .170 hitter into a lineup than Servais does for Garver.

Benching him ( Garver ) like he needs to be, would be an admission of ineptness and mismanagement by himself, and those that surround him within the organization

Another guy with an ERA over 6 and the Mariners are getting skunked.

Yeah, I don’t necessarily mind the fact that they got to Gilbert a little bit with a long ball or two

But you’re right some no-name loser 2 hitting us is a gut punch.

But it’s gonna happen time and time again when Skip is forced to pencil in a second rate lineup on a nightly basis

Spin it to win it. Even if you have a 6.4 era.

Six more outs to put together some magic to break a lot of Houston hearts
Not today my friend.

Had a chance of adding 4 games to our lead, but end up adding 2.

Win a game against Verlander and lose a game against a pitcher the MLB uses as batting practice. Typical Mariners but winning 3 out of 4 is better than what I thought.

firing servais to "fix" problems is like using a bandaid to fix a gunshot wound. 3 decades of nintendo and now stanton has made too many m's fans incapable of seeing the forest for the trees. we suck, but this is the most successful we've been in a couple decades after so many years of going through skippers like clockwork. we nearly killed wedge. mclendon. wak. that was awful times. firing them and their staffs have done little to fix the real problem which is total institutional incompetence. but the heads of that institution deflect by shuffling shit with managers. it's been their mo.

i'm all for getting rid of him, but it would need to be a part of a much more multifaceted to actually "fix" anything. just imo.
Again, not defending Servais, but, he was given the team that Dipoto/Stanton (who is really just Dipoto's puppet) put together for him. True, it is Servais' choice to determine who the 26 guys will be on the team, but he still has to select them from a pool that Dipoto and Stanton put together.

So, IMO, the problem starts with Dipoto and Stanton. Also, Servais isn't the guy who keeps trading away our top bullpen arms every year, and replacing them with offensive players who strikeout at astronomical rates. That's Dipoto. In a perfect world, we get rid of both of them. But if I could get rid of only one, I'd choose Dipoto every time.

But still kind of makes us all re-think the 'What place will we be in at All Star break' thread.

Imagine going to the game today vs a rookie pitcher with an almost 7 ERA and you get shut out …

Better than split for sure, but this was honestly a disappointing series for me, despite the fact they won it. They scored 9 runs in 4 games and somehow won 3 of 4. That is not at all sustainable. If the starting pitching falters even just a tiny bit this team is done.

Is there anyway the M’s could just forfeit day games. Don’t care to look it up but it seems like they have lost every day game and looked like AA team during them.

9-12. I don't believe that is just home games but day games in general.

Edit: 3-5 at home in day games.
