I may be a breather…

But I am far from a believer

This ball club has major holes for the foreseeable future is going to struggle to consistently plate four or five runs a game

Absolutely we’re gonna have scattered ball games like that whooping we put on Cincinnati in the last game of the series, but that is not the norm or anywhere near it for this current starting roster.

Fortunately for us, we don’t have anybody at a .600+ win percentage in our division. so it’s more or less up for grabs if we can somehow play remotely near .500 baseball for the next month and a half until our scripted come to life moment a week or so before the All-Star break.

Hard to believe but I just picked up Jesse Winkler on my fantasy team. The guy looks reborn this year. Still can't hit lefties but he is brutally punishing right handers and walking a ton leftieds for some odd reason (.385 OBP vs LHP).

I guess it took him a whole year in Milwaukee to recover from his Mariner experience.

Yeah, one can only hope this gets their heads right and they realize you’ve gotta put runs across the plate to win. You can’t lean on pitching for the entire season to bail you out

Still a whole bunch of strikeouts this game, but at least they squared a few balls up and put together a couple rallies

Unfortunately those K's aren't going anywhere but was nice to see them square up some pitches. JP, JRod and Garver have to get going or there's zero shot for that last playoff spot.

Why would you turn off the emotions until the all star break? The first 15 are just as important as the next 15, then the next 15 and so on. And yes, breathing a sigh of relief after a sweep is natural for a fan, what should fans not breath a sigh of relief because we aren’t at the all star break?

I think even then players are still in some anxiety mode because the season started and right now the race is on equal footing and everybody wants to start well. When the jitters goes away in maybe a month or so I think is when the real baseball starts.

In any adversity the best leaders and people turn off their emotions. If we would have started the season 14-1 I wouldn't start celebrating and popping champagne so why would we go into panic mode when we start slow? If have 2 months of bad baseball and as a manager/management have gone through different lineup changes, bringing up guys from AAA, changing their approach to their gameplan and nothing is working then yes it would be time to press the panic button.
