It wasn't a comment on Love's talent or worth on the market.... it was a correction of the reporter mistakenly calling him a max contract player.

Love's current deal is a 4 year contract he got with the Wolves, not a 5 year... so technically he isn't currently a max-contract player.

I don't know why Blatt felt the need to make that correction... my opinion is that he's that type of person who likes to be accurate and can't help clarify inaccuracies spoken to him.

Okay....So, Love is a max salary guy. But, not a Super Max..ie...Derrick Rose rule?

Yeah...he should have stayed silent:lol:

Thanks for the clarification. When quotes are posted like that you can never tell the context.

 Good job Blatt.

It's probably just some misguided attempt to motivate him but Kevin Love only came to Cleveland because he wanted to be on a winner. Blatt is basically asking him to carry the team while LeBron is out, Love could have stayed in Minne to do that.

Very true.

Being marginalized by Kyrie isn't helping either.

Again, Kyrie is a short sg, not a pg.

I think they would be better served with a guy like prime J-Kidd or maybe even Rondo.

Lebron wold last longer and the bigs would be much happier.

Kevin or Kyrie needs to go.

Agree.

The only guy I can think of that gives them both passing and the ability to score is Mike Conley.

But, they wold never trade Kyrie for Conley straight up.

Speaking of vet pg's.....

How's about you guys give us Jameer instead of Austin?:hope:

I'm still of the opinion that the trio can work out well. The duo of Kyrie and Kevin, clearly, is not a good one.

But throw LeBron in there with his point guard skills and defense... and the trio works.

We've already seen flashes of the trio working well together... the problem has been team defense. Shumpert and Mozgov should go a long way to help with that.

I am probably being a bit optomistic... but I like the pieces going forward.

Does Jameer have a lot of value? Oddly enough they seem to be keeping on the inactive. Boston and clippers can do business, so why not think that's in the making?

Danny seems to be helping every team in the west these days

This team is falling apart. Wouldn't be shocked if Love and LBJ leaves. Even with the new players they look lost. Coach is next to go.

Chicken Little references are very appropriate here as the Cavs are still in the East, have been playing without the best player on the planet, are integrating newly acquired players and yet are still firmly in playoff contention.

The excuses for the cavs is hilarious. I'm sorry but there is no excuse to be 1-8 without LeBron when you had kyrie & love both available for most of those 9 games

The Thunder have played a huge chunk of the Season w/out their top 2 guys and they are only a 1/2 game back of the Cavs.

Fair or not, a team with Bron, Kyrie and Love is supposed to do a hell of a lot more than just contend for a playoff spot.

They have underachieved, woefully.

If you don't see anything wrong with the cavs going 1-8 without LeBron when they have love & kyrie, I suggest you get help

Probably not.

But, for a playoff team w/ pg issues, he should be a target.

Come the deadline, Danny should have a few offers.

The fact that the Clippers are not targeting him just shows that the Austin move is not about basketball.

Rivers is a VERY undersized sg. He is not a pg...at all.

Absolutely the Cavs have underachieved. Absolutely their performance without LeBron, given the rest of the talent on squad is inexcusable.

What I'm saying is that looking forward to the future... the state of things is not as bad as is often being painted, IMO.

Looking back, there has been a lot of failure. Looking forward, there is a lot of opportunity.

Whether they will start to improve and take advantage of that opportunity... or whether they will continue to underwhelm remains to be seen.

Tales of their demise have been greatly exaggerated.

I don't know why you all are overreacting like this. The Cavs have JR, they will be just fine.

Take it from a long-suffering Clipper fan.

You have to have an up, before you can have a down.

They lost to the Knicks the 1st game of the Season, started treading water, then lost to the 76ers.

There is nowhere to go from there but up.

LeBron paid full price for Kevin Love and Mozgov, other teams haven't nearly spent as much as the Cavs have. If LBJ really had that much confidence in this team then he wouldn't be making desperation moves that are about winning in the present, where is all the patience he was preaching about in the offseason?

Maybe they aren't as good as we thought

Maybe?

I have a really bad habit of believing the hype about a team before they've even played their first game.

I was on record saying the Bulls would come out of the East.

But, I thought the Cavs would burn up the Regular Season and make it to the ECF...with ease:L
