I think Romo will be a Cowboys as long as he wants.
I think you're wrong. I don't think he sees the final two years of this contract. Maybe he sees 2018 but I doubt it. I really doubt he sees 2019.
I think Romo will be a Cowboys as long as he wants.
As much as I like Romo if he can't take us to the playoffs and have some success ( maybe 3 wins in a 2 year window) he should be gone in 2 years regardless of the circumstance. Romo has been here long enough he needs to win badly to justify moving forward with his contract imo.
Cap wise he has to be here 3 more seasons.
If we keep restructuring him he may see 2029!!!

Not so much true bro

$40 million guaranteed (Signing Bonus + 2013-14 base salaries)
If on the roster 3rd league day of 2014, $7.5M of 2015 guarantees
If on the roster 3rd league day of 2015, additional $7.5M of 2015 guarantees
2014 Restructure: $12.5 million
I'll go into the contract a little later when I get home tonight, have to hurry and leave.
well per over the cap we have a cap savings of -1.5M in 2016, meaning it will cost more to release him. I don't see any other option than Romo in Dallas through at least 2016. Pause if he's restructured again in 15 his the same cap loss will be even higher.
Over the cap is taking into consideration that Romo will be on the team come the 3rd day of the 2015 league year. Trust me on this, the contract is a little more complicated than it looks. I'll break it down tonight when I get in. Headed to the gym, be home and situated in like 2 hours.
Screw the gym. Being in shape is overrated, break the contract down now.
Just kidding. Have a good workout.
Way too long for me to read. I only got through most of paragraph two!!! two points on what you covered there: If I remember, $7.5M of the 2015 contract became guaranteed already on the 3rd day of the 2014 league year and $7.5M of the 2016 contract becomes guaranteed on the 3rd day of the 2015 league year (not $15M of the 2015 contract as of the 3rd day of that same year). So I think your dead money in 2015 is $7.5M too high. 2016 dead money - $26.635M. Unallocated bonus money plus $7.5M for being on the roster on the 3rd day of the 2015 league year. Pre-June 1st of 2016 the cap hit would be $9.135M plus $7.5M as of today, but once we restructure him in 2015 it goes way up.
Also, you can convert that guaranteed salary ($7.5M per year) to a bonus since we already did that with Romo in this contract in 2013 and 2014, pay it immediately and thus spread out the cap hit. So when Romo is on the team as of the 3rd day of 2015 year (which he will be) and we then restructure him (which we will do) he basically will become uncuttable in 2016 also. Get used to #9. He's here for a while unless injury renders him unplayable...
"Injury will always be part of the game & unpredictable"
copy that....hate the labels people put on players.
funniest to me has always been #1 or #2 receiver
Sean Lee: Injury Prone -- This is not disputable
Tony Romo: Choke Artist -- Hard to debate that one, too
you're a troll - totally indisputable
sure it is....chronic hamstrings like Austin fits but not acl, neck ligaments and the like for Lee. Lee is a tough SOB that does everything he can to play. Least to me he is but you go ahead and define all you want. I could care less about changing your opinion.
