Why are they playing him at LT in games when we need help on the right side

Because he apparently sucked on the right side

You do realize the left tackle is harder then then the right side to play

Can they move Moses to Guard?
Sure they could, but that would mean they have given up on either ribeye or Long. And we would still need a backup tackle. Compton is likely going to be the swing tackle no matter what at this point. Its actually smarter for them to keep Moses as a LT where he doesnt have to retrain his body to react the exact opposite of what he has been doing the past two years. Let Compton play swing, and Polumbus stays RT. If Moses had shown ability to move to RT, I would be fine with it. BUt no need to try and force it if in the lng run he isnt clearly better than the guy we already have.
only fools thought morgan would jump in right away . he has potential and by the beginning of year 3 he should be a solid starter
same with long
I think we may see Long before year 3, if for no other reason than necessity. Hell, he may be the starter by the end of this year.
my standard is year 3 for 3rd rounders . long could beat that
as for replacing polumbus , shark is right . no one has beaten him out and he needs to stay there until they do so
That's usually pretty good rule of thumb. Just not sure RG3 will be alive in 3 years if we don't change a guard or 2.
Last I checked we just brought in a guard. And much like Polumbus, no one has beat out Chester. I have said since the off season started, its border line retarded to replace 80% of your O-line in one off season. granted it COULD be done, but most semi rational teams would not even entertain that concept... no matter HOW bad they thought the group was.
Who's advocating replacing anyone before they earn the position? I'm just espousing that Chester, and maybe Licht, needs to be replaced or our injury prone QB isn't going to last. I'm not saying put Long or anyone else in before they are ready and have earned it. I won't be surprised, however, if Long isn't playing before the end of the year.

IM not saying you have called for a blanket replacement just because. But I have seen some around here take that mindset.
And to be honest I wouldnt be shocked if Long, Moses and Ribeye all remain backups the entire season. Chester, Litch and Polumbus are not going to just step aside for the young guys. Very rarely do you find guys who are 3-7 year vets that outright suck so bad that any 3-5 rounder could just walk in and replace them.
as of right now , no one on this roster has beaten out stieger , chester or polumbus . and they shouldnt be handed the job until they do
now if i checked right miami has done almost a complete replacement of the o/line as has chicago last season
Miami almost had no choice after the whole Martin thing. Have not looked into the Bears much. But we both know 80% line turnover is a rarity, not an accepted means of improvement in the NFL. Kneejerk reactions are usually regretted.
