If you think I'm going to be offended by that then unfortunately I'm not - I know it pains you that you can't offend me in that manner

It doesn't pain me at all. You're joy in life seems to be based on the outcome of Ranger games, seem to take it more personally than an actual fan. Almost like Bluwolf, so emotionally invested in a team you don't even like. Shall I post all your Ranger hate tweets on here for everybody to see? Stop putting on a show for the forum, show 'em who you really are and how you feel.

Fact of the matter is, MY team is playing, after knocking YOUR team out.

I'll say it again, John Moore went shoulder to chest. I guess that's dirty now. But Prust going head hunting, is not.

Honestly though: has anyone defended the Prust hit? If so, point me in their direction, I'll yell at 'em. Both hits are dirty and unnecessary.

Laughing is healthy, so I'm gonna need a healthy dose of it right now

Don't set me up to say something you're gonna regret me saying now....

Go watch the gif I posted, tell me where his shoulder hits first. Or you to blind to see it?

This is all completely un-true except the last part - I watch all the hockey games so I'm equally invested in all the games, I'm just giving you my opinions on what I think, and when people like you act arrogant, I tend to get annoyed like a lot of other people would

So what? The Penguins knocked the Blue Jackets out and I don't see Pix or Dare or anyone else gloating that they knocked out 43's team - but you seem to care that in an argument that has nothing to do about the Kings and Flyers, you feel the need to mention the part about the Rangers beating the Flyers, which is completely true, but completely un-necessary in this debate

When you're more worried about my team and obviously rooting for the Canadiens, yeah it's necessary. Stop worrying about the Rangers and how they get things done and closing out a series. Close out your own, then talk.

Wow, that's messed up.

if you played the game you would understand. THIS is how the game is played. If this is so messed up then you tell me what Prust was trying to do. Did you see the reaction of Prust after the whistle blew ? Didn't think so. I saw it and every Ranger saw it. Don't want retaliation , don't start it. This has been part of the game forever as well it should be.

I'll leave this here for you guys to discuss and i'm out of this thread till the series is over. Later.

@DanRosen:
Henrik Lundqvist is 5-2 with a .930 save percentage (13 goals on 188 shots) in games after a loss this postseason.

You went THERE? It's neanderthal-ish, it's primitive, it's unevolved. The game must evolve with what we know. We know too much to allow idiocy to occur. Up until the middle of the 20th century, everyone smoked. Then people discovered how smoking is pretty darn unhealthy, so guess what?! People stopped. The government stepped in to make selling cigarettes tougher, to protect the people. Well, until I'd say the past 15 years, concussions weren't regarded as a very big deal, even in the sports medicine community. Then research on the subject began to increase, and we know now how dangerous these incidents are. So, as a member of the sports medicine community, I champion the "crusade" to eliminate idiocy like these hits (yes, BOTH hits) from the game. They are NOT necessary to the game and they are harmful to the athletes that I and my colleagues protect. The league stepped in in the case of Prust and suspended him for two games, as they should have (perhaps a few more). The league will also step in and suspend Moore, as they should. Just as in the cigarette analogy with the government stepping in, the league is stepping in to protect it's players. Retaliation is the excuse meatheads use to head hunt a guy. If a player has a mind of his own, he wouldn't deem that garbage necessary, he'd be more focused on winning the damn game. This isn't the Coliseum, we don't need to see people die to be entertained. Protect the players on the ice because they're human beings, treat the players on the ice the same way, or you will not have my respect. Sorry I didn't play the game because it's expensive and there were no girl's leagues when I was growing up...but don't you dare make that seem like I somehow don't understand it.

I'll say it again, John Moore went shoulder to chest. I guess that's dirty now. But Prust going head hunting, is not.

True. But John Moore's angle of attack was not straight on. Technically a blind side.

Prust came at a more direct angle, and also hit "shoulder to chest".

Also, it appears that Prust is heading towards the puck which just chipped out of the zone. He sees Stepan coming and alters his path to make the hit on the way. This is the key difference.

The lateness of Prust's contact is the multiplying factor and the reason he got suspended. Interference is different than deliberate contact with the head.

Now, Moore makes the decision to deliver the hit when he is 5 feet behind the red line and more than 15 feet away from Weise. He covers the distance and makes contact just about the faceoff dot. And Weise never sees it coming. Moore has to even cross in front of a teammate to make the hit. It's not an opportunistic thing.

And he gets more than just chest, appearing to elevate his shoulder exactly as Prust did.

Both are questionable hits, but what Moore did appears to be a distinct decision on his part to chase down and make the hit, and the only one has the added spectre of being retaliation.

Now, not saying Prust's hit is anyway a justifiable hit, but this guy made a career out of the exact same hit because he did so when the puck was there.

I thought both hits were dirty. But I can't say either hit was bad or had more impact on the series than what happened to price. Great game by bourque last night. Evening horse it's been a long to.e
