La Journal de Montreal: EXCLUSIVE: Montreal can still win–Alex Kovalev

Hmmm.

Nope. Sorry Alexei, I appreciate the pep talk but the Habs have virtually no chance without Price. I thought the series was a toss up before he went down, but without Price its going to be an ugly (but quick) one. Not complaining, just stating the facts as I really see them. If you watched the Habs at all during the regular season its clearly evident how Price elevated the team and how they play differently with him in the lineup both offensively and defensively. Look at how bad they looked in the post Olympic break as Carey recovered. Terrible.

Their season effectively ended with the collision. The only complaint I have is that win or lose (and I expected them to lose in a long series) I expected a good entertaining series. Now because of that its going to be a boring one sided series.

Oh well, they lasted a month longer than I thought they would.

I do like AV and in most match ups I would wish him well.

Kinda funny that you have a lot of former Habs coaches having pretty good success in the league:

AV - Rangers
Julien - Bruins
Therrien - Habs

/I guess what I'm saying is that the Canucks should hire Randy Cunneyworth (lol)
//That post was for esls

I would give Guy another look if I was looking for a coach. In the time I have followed them he led them to their best finish and they were good in all three aspects of the game.

@renlavoietva:
Alain Vigneault said Derick Brassard is day-to-day. Conclusion: he's not playing tonight. #rangers #tvasports

Up 2-0. No need to rush him. Moore has played well on the 3rd line and the 4th line has played great.

Guy Carbonneau is a name I haven't heard in the coaching mix - I think I saw Guy Boucher's name in the rumour mill for Vancouver, though.

so habs are pussies for letting Kreider walk out unscathed and if they go after him they are the dirtiest pricks on the planet cant have both. , not really time to go vendetta hunting down in the series. even at 3-1 they were not out of the game. it would be new york islander stupid to go after him at that time.

I don't think 1 fight putting both guys in the box for 5 minutes wouldn't have hurt the Habs one bit. At the very least you send a message to your goalie that you have his back & you let the other team know you aren't going to take any crap.

What the Isles did against Pittsburgh was the players doing. They were tired of all the cheapshots Tavares was getting. They stood up for themselves. That was it.

#NYR #MTL Habs coach Michel Therrien on Rangers: " This is the best team we've played in the playoffs so far "
Yeah, i'm not buying that. I think he's just trying to get under our skin or play mind games. I still don't think we're a better team than the Bruins.

But i'll gladly accept the compliment for my team. :D

you can be a better team without having the better players. I dont think hes wrong, they are playing as the best TEAM since Mrs. St Louis passed. That team really came together.

I can't believe Chris Kreider is still able to skate today. This series was over once the Habs announced Price was done for the ECF. The Canadiens should have done what the Isles did to the Penguins not to long ago. If Charles Wang can afford the fineN Montreal shouldn't have a problem with it. Nobody even went after Kreider. Just like Buffalo players allowing Lucic to get away with injuring Miller. ABSOLUTELY EMBARRASSING.

kind of different meaning dont you think? not being able to skate or just having a fight are 2 totally different things.

what if they tried to engage him in a fight, he choose not to and they took a penalty that cost montreal the game. yes they lost anyways but I dont think the habs did anything wrong not going after him. more pressing matters in the playoffs. Price KNOWS that team has his back and the best thing they can do for him is win without the distraction of going after one player.

That we have been, but I think we still may have lost to the Bruins. They just have our number. Though, right now with Hank, i'm not sure if anybody can beat us

Bruins do not play Bruins hockey against the Habs for some crazy reason. They go from a team that beats you down and wears you out to a team that wants to make pretty plays and such.

Been that way for a long time and always leaves me scratching my head.

Love all the Bruins references though..lol

Yep winning cures everything - that's what the Habs need to do now, that's the bottom line in the playoffs - there's no time for retributions - the best retribution is to win the damn game

The WCF winner is going to run you over, sorry....Both those teams have way too much depth for the Rags to handle

Good start for the Rangers. Looking more and more like a short series with Price out.
