I think the point is that the two aren't mutually exclusive. You don't put up a .957 SV% without getting a little bit "lucky", even if you're Dominik Hasek.

And though I do agree, like I said in my post above. But can't say it's been all ''luck'' all playoffs long. I think it's more of a frustrated Subban and Habs' team in general saying it since they haven't found a way to cleanly beat Hank, outside of the Eller goal. Which 9/10 times, it's stopped.

I would say the Habs were pretty fortunate in not having to face Ben Bishop in round 1.

They should follow the Rangers example and cleanly beat Henry by running him and taking him out of the series.

That they were. With Bishop, no way in hell that is a sweep, or even to make it out of the round. Bishop was one of the better goalies all throughout the year. They caught a big break in that one. But, they still could have won, just may not have been as quick as it took.

And not having to face Marchand in round two.

Yes, I have just removed a few posts from this thread. People need to stop throwing bait posts out there and then act all offended when they get a strong response.

Well, I didn't think I was baiting anyone THIS time, but anyway... :bawling:

Am I the only one who thinks the Habs are making a mistake by just throwing Tokarski in there? Budaj may not be elite, but he has considerable experience. IMO, he's a better option.

Dustin Tokarski gave up 3 goals in 60 minutes in Game 2 - Peter Budaj gave up 3 goals in 20 minutes in Game 1 - I'd go with the talented guy, they might as well at this point

Yeah... I get that. But how talented is Tokarski really? He hasn't stuck with an NHL team and he's 2 years younger than Carey Price.

Budaj at least offers some stability. A career AHLer like Tokarski offers only the homerun possibility. Hopefully the Habs aren't that desperate.

Mine too. I'd start Budaj and would have Monday as well.

The posts are gone so I can only assume you were trying to bait me. If so don't be a chicken and do it on a message board. Do it the old fashioned way - with anonymous postcards and prank phone calls.

I wonder how much history factored into that decision? Remember, TWICE in the past the Canadiens have gone with a young, unknown and untested goalie in the playoffs and come away with a cup both times.

Never mind that those two were legends.

I think it's the wrong choice, and a kid like Tokarski, as talented as he is, is going to wilt in the Garden. That's a hard building to play in for anyone.

It's the asbestos that does it.

Could be more to the story too. Maybe Budaj has a lingering injury of some sort that makes him OK to come in as a backup but not ready to handle a full game yet.

Once you get used to it, you can do amazing things:
