That would be a nice explanation, save for as the video evidence linked by Forty shows, this isn't the first time Kreider and the Rangers have "accidentally" injured a number one goalie.

I can't see any videos since i'm at work and TD blocks Youtube and other videos.

We're all going to see it different ways. I can explain my views, you all can explain yours. Most will agree with yours and other non-Ranger fans. I see it my way, had it been Carcillo/Dorsett who did this, guys with a bad track record, i'd say odds are it was done with intent. I just don't see it with Kreids. He's going hard to the net, there really was no place else for him to go. Emelin helped the cause of him falling and I get that he could have went in head first, but with a guy just coming back from a broken wrist/hand I doubt he wants to try and re-injure that bone and break it or concuss himself

And just over a month ago, Brendan Gallagher of the Habs did the exact same thing to Jhonas Enroth ending his season (I can't find the video on youtube, but they have showed it on TSN at least a half dozen times). He made a power move towards the net, lost his balance, and hit Enroth skates first.

Maybe we should wrap all the players within protective bubbles :noidea:

8 goalie interference penalties for him this year. Next guy close to him only had 3. We're the only team who does this though...

Have the Montreal police launched their investigation?

Let me add to this by stating I don't entirely blame this style of play by the Rangers on most of their players. Vineault is the force behind these actions mostly. he has always encouraged his players to go that extra mile (eg. Alex Burrows) then gives his typical smug answers as to why his team does these things.

I will join those speculating Dustin Tokarski gets the start tonight. Not convinced, but signs are pointing in that direction.

Eklund tweeted that he was in, :noidea: if you wanna believe him..

Also.

Don LeGrecca roasting Montreal on ESPN 98.7 FM: says that none of the Canadiens on the ice at the time went after Kreider at the time, which if it was a dirty hit they would have pummeled him. Nobody surrounded, hit, or yelled at Kreider.

In this case, intent is irrelevant. His intent was obviously just to score a goal. But he has to recognize that going full speed at the goalie's chest and not slowing down or changing direction until the last possible second is going to generate a large number of potentially very dangerous plays, and he has to take responsibility for that and for his own body and what happens to the goalie when he goes barreling in like that.

It doesn't have to be malicious to be reckless, and reckless play, while not as bad as malicious play, is still dangerous and unacceptable.

That is quality investigation there. Sherlock Holmes would be proud

We gotta do something before game time don't we? It's either this or listening to Mattola sing Madonna's greatest hits

Both teams are diving pansies with intent to injure. Come at me.

1) Define "Track Record". Because I see three incidents by Kreider in one season. Two in a span of two weeks in the playoffs.

2) So you are admitting that he had some control over where he was going? He chose to fall the way he did and not the way physics indicates he should have? In order to protect himself? Looks to me like you just kind of proved the point I was trying to make. Thanks!

Please point out where anyone says the Rangers are the *only* team to do it. Or is that just your "Negative comment, DEPLOY EVERYONE ELSE IS A HATER SHIELD" defense?

James Neal has a history of hitting goalies. As does Matt Cooke. Lucic is a pro at it. Heck, even Dubinski has taken a shot at a goalie. The Rangers are not the only team to do it.

However, no team benefits more from when it coincidentally happens or has a higher body count rate for opposing goalies.

We are discussing *this* event. And how similar it is to others recently.

It's th age old story of fandom. Your team does something wrong, then you go back into the archives and say "Yeah but....remember when this team did that?" to try and excuse the said actions of their own team. I have done this in the past.

I guess I always notice it when it's my team because it's where I spend most of the time on this board and having to defend whatever my team does?

Letang clearly pushed Kreider into Fleury in that game, thus leading to that contact being made with him. Emelin may have had an influence on Kreids going down and it effected the way he went into Price, so then I guess I am?

And as far as the ''shield'' kinda going away from that. Accepting the fact that i'm the only Ranger fan who mainly posts here, so i'll deal with the consequences and backlash like a man and admit when i'm wrong.

I don't think we can put Kreider in the same category as a Neal or Lucic, just yet, until I see multiple times where a suspension is needed, like those guys, i'd say that.
