What's funny is if Lundqvist had been on the recieving end of that, Johnny would be on here demanding a public excecution....Oh well, if you are happy about the Rags winning this way, congratulations.
Do people honestly think Kreider wasn't trying to score on that play? Both Ray Ferraro and Mike Johnson both think it's a stretch to think Kreider intended to injure Price on that breakaway.
200!

It may not have been intentional, but it was exceedingly reckless for him to think he could change the laws of physics and not plow into the goalie the way he did.Do people honestly think Kreider wasn't trying to score on that play? It was fucking accidental. But then again, I guess you'd be able to stop on a dime, skating that fast and having Emelin's stick between your legs.
Marty, he's a Ranger. His ONLY intent was to injure him. Isn't that obvious?
Good form. Got one knee pinning him down and in position to "groin" him. Other knee providing a solid base for your arm swings.
Oh, and DA BEARS!
You think you guys are upset, there goes my goalie in the SportsHoopla playoff draft.
Of course I think he was trying to score, but trying to score and recklessly running into the goalie aren't mutually exclusive events.
Look, i'd admit when I was wrong and have done so countless #'s of times on here. All biased aside, and once again, as usual, i'm going 1 vs 10 here. I don't see it as being intentional. Kreider beat 2 DEFENDERS and was tripped up by one, going hard to the net. It was a freak injury, one I wish didn't happen. Have nothing against Price, he's one of the better goalies in the league. It sucks it happened.
The problem with plays like this is the skater has a full head of steam, what is a goalie to do - if he stands his ground, he's gonna get plowed, and he still has to play it to make a save - it's a no win situation for a goalie. Same with guys doing those power moves out of the corner to the top of the blue paint - either the goalie has to sit on his heels and play deep or risk being bowled over by the attacking playing and probably one of his d-men.
The problem with today's NHL is no goalie will stand up for himself and fight back except for Ray Emery. If skaters can essentially do this unpunished with an occasional 2 minute minor as the worst result, where is the incentive to not essentially run the goalie? Is not running the goalie part of the "code" I was unaware of?
With that being said, I hope Tokarski gets the start tonight - I saw him play against the Ducks earlier this season and he looked really good.
Didn't mean to hurt him but sure as heck didn't try to get out of the way
At any rate, justice would be Tokarski coming in and turning the lights out. But reality is the Rangers have won the series now
Where is Steve Penney when you need him?
