Teams coached by Vineault have a knack for well timed cheap shots. Kreider won them the series on Saturday

dont want to add the :tinfoil3: but I would not be surprised to see more than a few calls go to Montreal tonight

Don't gotta tell me twice. We all know how those fans and players whine for calls.

But, we all do, not just them.

Like I said on Twitter earlier, I have nothing against the Habs and their fans. The ones I follow are very respectful and nice, but there's a handful of them that aren't. But that comes with all fan bases.

It's gonna get ugly tonight. I feel bad for the Ranger fans up in the Bell Centre tonight, they're going to he bothered all night.

Add another goalie to the "completely incidental contact with a Ranger" heap.

Henry is going to need his fast acting Advil. A real Rhino is coming after him tonight. And I am sure it will be a "hockey play". Nothing to complain about, all things being equal.

Here's my boy! :lol: I was waiting for you to comment on this play! :suds:
I'd watch for Bourque or Patches to take a run at Hank or Kreider.

Rangers just need to play smart and not fall into that trap. Let them committ the dumb penalties. Stay away from the stupid play.

@KatieStrangESPN:
#NYR #MTL Put it this way: Rangers will not be surprised to see Tokarski at some point this series, possibly even tonight

Steve Zipay ‏@stevezipay · 40m
Kreider: "I try to get to the net and they're going to try to keep me from getting to the net. There's going to be contact."

Steve Zipay ‏@stevezipay · 39m
More Kreider: "I don't go out with the intent to hurt anyone, ever."

Andrew Gross ‏@AGrossRecord · 4m
Kreider on Therrien calling him reckless: "I don’t give it much mind. I’m worried about what my coach thinks, what guys on my team think."

@KatieStrangESPN
---
#NYR #MTL Asked if he had any regrets on play, whether he would've done anything differently, Kreider said he only wished he would've scored

This is the intesity and heart the Rangers' have been missing. Love Kreider.

If you charge directly at a goalie at top speed with two defenders on your heels, and seemingly no intention to ever veer (I mean, he was pretty close to Price already at top speed before he fell, I'm not sure he avoids him anyway), you run the risk of a violent collision with the goalie.

He has to be responsible for his body.

I have figured it out. The Rangers need a new skate supplier. Seems that whenever there is ANY contact near the crease, no matter how slight, their blades jump off the ice.

But they are always careful to make sure there is contact first. Like the hit on Anderson. Methot made eye contact with Kreider before his skates jumped out from under him.

Finally, some objective physics.

Since I couldn't watch the game this is the first I have seen of the hit on Price.
Do I know that he was trying to hurt Price, or to just shake him up a bit? No.
Do I think that he was tripped up and accidentally hit Price? Absolutely not. Whatever the intent he did what he wanted to do. Garbage bush league move running into the goalie full speed like that.

And it's even harder to stop when your skates just *sproing* out from under you all the time.

It's why I liked being a 6'4" 225 pound goalie. If it looked like someone wasn't going to stop, I helped them. I have big pads. Doesn't hurt me much when someone's face hits them at full speed. I also liked planting a shoulder in their chest, catcher blocking home plate style. After doing that a few times, I had a surprisingly easy time in the crease.

Not that I advocate that kind of behavio(u)r. It did get me suspended once. But that was probably because I kept punching while kneeling on the guy.

Actually, yeah. That was probably it. The punching.

Good form. Got one knee pinning him down and in position to "groin" him. Other knee providing a solid base for your arm swings.

Oh, and DA BEARS!

What's funny is if Lundqvist had been on the recieving end of that, Johnny would be on here demanding a public excecution....Oh well, if you are happy about the Rags winning this way, congratulations.

Do people honestly think Kreider wasn't trying to score on that play? Both Ray Ferraro and Mike Johnson both think it's a stretch to think Kreider intended to injure Price on that breakaway.

200! :ipw:
