Teams coached by Vineault have a knack for well timed cheap shots. Kreider won them the series on Saturday
dont want to add the but I would not be surprised to see more than a few calls go to Montreal tonight
Add another goalie to the "completely incidental contact with a Ranger" heap.
Henry is going to need his fast acting Advil. A real Rhino is coming after him tonight. And I am sure it will be a "hockey play". Nothing to complain about, all things being equal.
#NYR #MTL Put it this way: Rangers will not be surprised to see Tokarski at some point this series, possibly even tonight
Kreider: "I try to get to the net and they're going to try to keep me from getting to the net. There's going to be contact."
More Kreider: "I don't go out with the intent to hurt anyone, ever."
Kreider on Therrien calling him reckless: "I don’t give it much mind. I’m worried about what my coach thinks, what guys on my team think."
#NYR #MTL Asked if he had any regrets on play, whether he would've done anything differently, Kreider said he only wished he would've scored

Finally, some objective physics. If you charge directly at a goalie at top speed with two defenders on your heels, and seemingly no intention to ever veer (I mean, he was pretty close to Price already at top speed before he fell, I'm not sure he avoids him anyway), you run the risk of a violent collision with the goalie.
He has to be responsible for his body.

And it's even harder to stop when your skates just *sproing* out from under you all the time.
It's why I liked being a 6'4" 225 pound goalie. If it looked like someone wasn't going to stop, I helped them. I have big pads. Doesn't hurt me much when someone's face hits them at full speed. I also liked planting a shoulder in their chest, catcher blocking home plate style. After doing that a few times, I had a surprisingly easy time in the crease.
Not that I advocate that kind of behavio(u)r. It did get me suspended once. But that was probably because I kept punching while kneeling on the guy.
Actually, yeah. That was probably it. The punching.
This is me this guy tried to run me the same way, my buddy took this picture, I don't like to be run
I have figured it out. The Rangers need a new skate supplier. Seems that whenever there is ANY contact near the crease, no matter how slight, their blades jump off the ice.
But they are always careful to make sure there is contact first. Like the hit on Anderson. Methot made eye contact with Kreider before his skates jumped out from under him.
BlueWolf, you may be the biggest hater on this board.
I hate teams that play the way yours does, so yes I suppose in this instance I am
