here is the mock draft thread for 2017 / all mocks should be posted here . if you start your own mock in another thread i will let it play out and then merge it with this one i will start with my post all star game mock

1) Obi melifonu FS 6-4 219 this will shock most people . you would think at first glance he is a box safety . he is not , he has sean taylor range and he actually takes proper angles and low and behold tackles . most dont know him but scouts do . watch sr bowl game and practices . its all you need to see. pair him with cravens and we could have a nice duo there

2) montaviuos adams dt 6-3 308 he could be a 3-4 de but he gets penetration consistently in the backfield i wanted hassan reddick here 6-2 237 at ILB but i am not sure he will be here . if he is we have to look hard at him

3) jaleel johnson DE 6-3 309 lbs , i see him getting lost in the shuffle and dropping . he could go in round 2 for sure but he is a piece we can use at DE

4) forrest lamp OG 6-4 305 he can be the starter by 2018 which means we would live with lavou and kujo till then , Crowder, dawkins hopkins all can do the same thing but OG at this spot is the pick

4) Kareem Hunt RB toledo 5-11 208 , lost 17 lbs from his playing weight at toledo . i watched this kid alot and he was impressive against the competition he faced , but his sr bowl and the east west games showed he can play well . with him and fat rob i think we could have a good duo

5) alex anzalone ILB FLA 6-3 240 , put will compton's mental game into a bigger faster body and this guy is it , now its a gamble because he has an injury past but if we hit we have a great ILB who has size and speed tp cover TE's and backs

6) Chris godwin wr 6-1 208 yeah i know most will say look at the rose bowl and he wont be there . however most scouts have him in this round , he could push ryan grant off the roster . If he isnt there the safety Lorenzo Jerome 5-11 202 lbs could be . he is from st francis college in PA in both all star games he had 3 ints and a FF . he could be a nice young safety we could have in a rotation

6 ) Eddie Vanderdoes DT 6-3 320 , technique is different but he was throwing people around at sr bowl

7) Chad Kelley qb Ole miss , 6-2 215 lbs competition for Suds , he is more mobile and he has a good game . tore ACL so you take that into account as well

now FA will change things . i can see WR , TE RB CB moving up the needs list depending on what we do at safety , ILB , D/line OG during fa or if we lose one or both WRS

also trade downs will change things too

this is my best guess and it was hard because there are so many options . what is yours ?

Likely a 0% chance Johnson is there in the 3rd or Lamp in the 4th. Both could be 1st round picks.

the ratings still have them in those areas . it is all subject to change as the process goes on and the mock will change as it does

Most places have Lamp ranked in the 25-40 range. I don't think I've seen one with lower. Johnson is the more likely to fall, but I just don't see it.

skins have nine picks I believe, not eight.

One in every round, plus an added fourth rounder and an added 6th rounder. That's nine.

UConn S Obi Melifonwu met with the New York Giants, Detroit Lions and New York Jets on Wednesday.

The 6-foot-4, 217-pounder has been drawing Day 2 buzz following his impressive Senior Bowl week. "Melifonwu has the prototypical frame of an NFL safety, and the well-rounded skill set teams love at the position," wrote Luke Easterling. "He’s been impressive all week, showing rare fluidity and comfort in man coverage for a defensive back his size, and his willingness to mix it up in the box hasn’t gone unnoticed, either." Pro Football Focus graded Melifonwu as the No. 24 safety in the country last season.

there is going to be so much option at 17 i personly think skins will play it safe dt no value at 17 so they will go oline just adding tomsula and a couple of free agent dlineman can improve dline play

If Cook slips to 17...which I kinda doubt, he is definitely worth considering.
it depends on what we do in FA , and then the BPA could come into play if a need isnt worth the spot

I am taking a pass on Peppers right now. Same player as Cravens. He might even fall to the 2nd round. I have been seeing Lamp being mocked to us. It makes sense At LG especially if we release Lavou. The RB depth in this draft is huge I would wait on a RB. Plus I don't think Cook is there anyways. Cunnigham is interesting but he is looking like a late 1st rounder.

Its so early. The combine and FA should clarify things.
