It's hard to know what Jamal will bring to the team since he basically hasn't played in 2 years. Pete said after the 2021 season that they didn't use Jamal properly.

If they expect him to take on a Tackle and win then they aren't using him properly. His win rate will always be low. If, otoh, they have him as a nickel backer who will either blitz or cover that short to mid middle then I think he could have some good success.

We are never going to be a blitz happy team but at some point, Pete needs to accept that we don't have a front 4 that can provide sustained pressure.

Yep, 2 steps forward and 2 steps back with the injury stuff. Adams & Woolen return, but now we are out a few of the depth guys. I still think we're much better off today than last game though.

Don't even get me started on my putting. I'll never forget the game recently where I hit 7/9 greens in regulation (just a 9 hole day) and 3 putted 4-5 holes... not a single one putt... basically ended slightly above bogey per hole (there was a bomb hole somewhere in there lol, think I hit one in the water, then went over the green on the next one into a bunker, the inevitable disaster hole).

Yah we should be better off tonight. Love has played terribly as strong safety. Jamal Adams will help. Everyone keeps saying Jamal can't cover but he covered just fine in New York (in fact he was one of the best in the league routinely keeping QBs in the 70s for QB rating when thrown against)... so it's a scheme issue IMO as to why he has this stigma with Seattle fans. That's also concerning about Love, who played just fine in Detroit but has come here and looked horrible.

Not sure what the fuck Seattle is doing with their safeties but it doesn't seem to be working. Diggs has really dropped off this year as well, not sure why that is as he's been great for Seattle in prior years. Maybe age or the injury he had is catching up with him or Carroll is fuckin' around with the defense again.

I'm hoping Walker and Charbonnet both get a lot of chunk runs and we can lean on the Giants D a bit. Stay out of 3rd down and medium to long so Martindale doesn't get the opportunity to dial up a bunch of blitzes. Throw on early downs with motion and PA because our running game is productive. It will help the O-line a ton and hopefully our D can just show improvement and get pressure on Jones but keep him in the pocket at the same time. I don't expect it to be easy. It never is with this team but the Hawks have enough talent that there should not be much doubt. I just want steady improvement week to week and then get healthy with the bye and be playing their best football by Thanksgiving when things get extremely difficult.

But my REAL concern is the field itself. Remember the last time they hosted one team Sunday night, and had to switch things for a Monday night game?

Hopefully they get it right this time. We do NOT need a Rodgers repeat.

With no Barkley, this shouldn't be a game in contention late, but how can we not still be nervous about this defense? Particularly because Adams being back means major changes to how they will be playing and I'm not sure they were entirely up to speed on their old responsibilities.
