They're looking for an outfield bat to replace Murphy at the deadline, and the should. Deal with it.

Actually I think they are looking at options in case Cruz gets suspended. have not seen anything that says they are looking for a replacement for Murphy. you are putting your desires in there and claiming it's what the team is doing

Don't think so. Anyone with half a brain can see Murphy has been dragging this team down. They're looking to improve his position.

Who's doing what? you said it yourself "you think"

I've actually seen Ryan make a statement that they aren't worried about Cruz getting suspended this year

that's my question to you? you want him out but you haven't presented any scenarios or names of whom you'd replace him with

HALF THE DISCUSSIONS IN THIS THREAD HAVE BEEN ABOUT WHO TO REPLACE MURPHY WITH!!!! ARE YOU RETARDED OR JUST STUPID???!!!

I've said plenty of names

I'd rather see E. Beltre more at this point, Baker at least vs LHPs earlier, Craig Gentry even before that

I surrender. I think the time to look for Murphy's replacement is in the off-season not in the middle of the campaign when we are thin at the OF position with only Cruz, Martin, Beltre and Murphy. I can see Cruz & Martin as everyday OF'ers but I don't think either Beltre or Profar are ready to be everyday players. so for now our only option is Murphy and unless the Rangers trade for a major upgrade that doesn't seem to be going to change in the near future.

Question is who gets hurt the Worst, Rangers losing Cruz or A's losing Colon??

In the who cares:
Yankee's will lose Cano, A-Rod(His career is done), Yankee's are 4 or 5 place team without Cano.
Brewers are going nowhere (Last place with or without Braun).

You don't think we should try to upgrade mid season at a position were weak at if we can? Again, I ask, I suppose that means you don't think we should upgrade our starting pitching either by that logic.

has to be the Rangers. the A's seem to have the pieces to survive losing Colon while the Rangers have no answer for losing Cruz

didn't say that. I said early that we need to add a starting pitcher and have said that for most of the season after losing Lewis, Harrison and Ogando and if it looks like we might lose our homerun and RBI leader then we need to look at an OF'er with a big stick but as you pointed out that could damage our farm system.

logically, we will not lose Cruz before the end of the season because of the long drawn out procedure available to him so the most logical call for the team would be a starting pitcher. and that is where we are really weak and that should be our only move.

So why is it okay to improve your pitching mid season, but not an outfielder that is hurting the team?

lol seriously? A sub 3 ERA with 12 wins at the all-star break is more valuable than a .260 hitter any day, I don't care how many bombs you have. We have guys that could replace him that might not hit bombs but could certainly get on base and hit for average. Both big losses, but I will go pitching over hitting every time.

I'd contend that LF is really weak as well Murphy's OPS is .674
