here's holding on every play in the NFL

all tackles are made by leading with the head.

and other bromides.

Baseball is a game of stats that happen on the field. All these other issues are just talking points.
Exactly, Rose's performance as a player should get him into the HOF.

Baseball is dying a slow death. TV viewership is down almost 40% from 1990. Of the 32 teams, only 27 can claim that they sell out for all home games. Once the "Old Guard" have ll passed, the guys that were born in 1940's and 50's. The game will make changes. The problem is that kids that were raised on Mario Bros. and Pacman can't stand the slow pace between every pitch. Worse, the teenagers playing Fortnight and Call to Arms will not watch baseball. My grandson has a 98 mph fastball and incredible control. The HS coach has begged him to play but he refuses. He says it's a waste of time. I tried to convince him that it might be a million dollar payday if he plays. "I can't spend my life waiting for a guy to adjust his batting gloves between every pitch." So he plays basketball and football where his mind doesn't go dead evry 40 seconds.
Baseball attendance and ratings are currently on an upswing.

No one's disputing whether his stats were HOF worthy. They are.
Then what are we disputing, his actions as a manager? Pete Rose "as a player" belongs in the HOF.

Different commissioners. Giamatti had a hard on for Rose.

And it didn’t help his cause with Giamatti dropping dead of a heart attack like 5 months in....There is no sympathy for Rose at this point, but I’ve always thought what he did was separate from his playing days....Sports have been filled with gamblers forever......

I will say, it is pretty dumb that Rose is banned while MLB has partnerships with Fanduel and DraftKings.

Honestly, its probably better for him to not be in because it keeps him somewhat in the spotlight. He gets in, he's just another HOF'er

Yeah, but Pete put big money down on that he’d get in the HOF before he dies.

He should, but he won't.

The cowards won't even reinstate Shoeless Joe Jackson after his sentence has long been served.

Jesus Christ. There's one rule you don't break in baseball. He knew it and he broke it. Then he just kept lying over it. Why the hell should a dirtbag like that be reinstated? With his history he should be kept away from anything MLB related because he's a bad influence.

We're the Astro players humping underage girls like Rose? Did they sign a document to stop the investigation before even more was uncovered? Did they agree to the permanent ban like Pete?

Bunch of fucktards...dude lied for 15 years after signing the agreement and only admitted it to sell his books.

Rose is a pile of shit

Football? Basically 15 minutes of action and 3 hours of committee meetings.

And 27 sell out all home games? That's way more than I expected. And way more than the NBA can manage.

Baseball will always exist, but it will likely never be the national pastime again. So what?

Even though he's not in the hall of fame it's nice they celebrate the day he broke Cobb's record every year now by having those jets fly over the stadiums and stuff. I'm sure they'll make it extra special this year since it will be the 35th anniversary.

Rose is more famous for being kept out of the Hall than he would be if let in.

That's definitely true of Shoeless Joe but I think Pete Rose would still be very famous today if he had been let in at some point. Especially if that meant he was still allowed to work in baseball.
