I have to remind myself that Devers is only 27. He can play third for a couple more years but by the time he's30, he should move to 1st.
I think that has to be the plan for Devers eventually. He’s an absolute butcher at 3B and he(seemingly) has not improved the way they thought he would over the years.

They definitely need to move Yoshida ASAP, even if it involves taking some dead money back. That is a huge priority this Winter.

He hasn’t ever been a good 3b

Why would we expect him to get better at this point

Only if the Cubs can extend him. He is set to be a FA after ‘25

The price is so cheap it’s a no brainer anyway

The comp pick will almost cover the biggest piece of the trade

What is the cutoff for offering a QO? And there are different kinds of QOs (sometimes the old teams gets a 4th rounder, sometimes a 1st rounder…)

Before the season starts

And the compensation is based on market size and payroll amount

The Cubs are considered a large market team, right? So they would only get a 3rd or 4th rounder if they lose Tucker via QO-FA?

If they’re over the luxury tax

If under I think they’d get a comp b like Boston will get for pivetta

Tucker’s MV is about $28M per year. Did that go up after Soto? If so, how high?
