I remember that conversation but when I looked at our 3 separate PM's especially the one titled list I couldn't find sheffield or any player not selected yet. Well it all worked out and no harm done.

I really enjoyed this draft. Kinda thought it would be easy, but it wasn't. Instead of searching for greatness, I had to split hairs.

Went over my 5th starter for hours and hours. (Newhouser, Lolich, Santana, Tanana, cone, Bunning, smokey Joe Wood, ... There were others.)Wanted Eddie Ciccote, as I think he's the best pitcher not in the HOF, plus his knuckleball. But couldn't let myself go all dead ball. Joss, imo, is the most underrated starter in history. He was so long ago and his career was cut short. Was pumped for Waddell, he's one of the coolest characters from Old Timey Baseball, imo. And an absolutely dominant lefty power pitcher. Crazy before his time power.

I don't have a lefty pinch hitter(Vizquel and Hamilton can left, but wouldn't PH unless there's an injury.) but I don't have right handed starter that I could imagine being Pinch Hit for.

George Sisler is a guy I get a lot in these. Not sure if thats because I over value him, or if he just slips thru the cracks. Not a source of power at first, but an incredible contact hitter, with speed. Honestly consider him an ideal 2nd hitter, but couldn't put him there.

Nos, I've tried to figure out how to squeeze Miggy somewhere else in the lineup, I just can't without goofing things up. And imo, this year has really validated his place among the greatest right handed hitters ever. How far up the ranks he goes I'm not sure. But he hasn't started to slow yet. And he can slide around as a mediocre option at a few spots in the field. Not really an asset there, but he has options.

Off to baseball. I'm thinking it gets cancelled. Rained like a sumbidge earlier and might again.

Little tid bit: when The Big Unit was inducted into Cooperstown, he stayed in a hotel registered under the name, "Eddie Plank."

Not that it helps any, I just think it's kinda cool. He's another guy that history sometimes forgets.

I bet Randy Johnson would have fun doing these....
