Hopefully. Him and Biddle could be the lefty/righty combo that Doc and Lee were in 2011 in the future.

So Nola enters the Phillies farm system. What black hole is he going to fall into that we will never see in the bigs?

Nola will be called up by the all star break or sooner. He could fit right in as a 4 or 5 starter.

Wait, of this year? What makes you think that?

Amaro already has egg on his face. He will be desperate to salvage some part of this season. Nola has good mechanics and control so 4 or 5 games in the minors should be enough to get him ready. He would most likely bring fans to the park. It would even be better to bring Ruf up around the same time and insert him as a starter. That may give the fans some thing to get a little excitement about. It is time to see some future Phillies. This team is boring right now.

Yea Northeast, typical Amaro with everything backwards. Sends down guys like Ruf who are ready to continue with their major league careers and then brings a guy up too early to cover Amaro's own stupidity.

All the scouting reports I have read estimate that Nola's best case scenario is to bring him up in about a year as Number One suggested. In both cases, the result is the same. Amaro destroys careers by his incredible incompetence and boneheadedness.

Ruf is not really a future phillies. He is soon 28 and he is more like a pinch hitter and 5th outfielder/backup 1st baseman.

Ruf has been mishandled. The Phillies said the same thing about Brandon Moss when he was in the system. They did not consider him a full time solution. However he chose to sign with Oakland when his contract was up. Moss had power and knew how to get on base and hit doubles as well. Oakland saw the potential in Moss because they evaluate better. Go take a look at his stats with Oakland and see what the Phillies missed. Moss was 28 years old when he saw that there was no future with the Phillies. A similar situation exists with Ruf . Amaro creates the illusion that certain players are not full time capable by placing a label on them. I will not buy in to his cool aid crap. Keep in mind that Amaro is the dummy who said that he does not pay attention to on base percentage. Play Ruf full time and he would lead all Phillies outfielders in Home runs,RBIS,and on base percentage.

You are probably right. I was referring to Ruf on the Phillies under Amaro as GM. In the eyes of this phillies management, Ruf is not and never will be a full timer. Unless he gets traded soon or Amaro gets fired, Ruf's time is running out.
