MLB 1977 Player Draft

Everyone once you finish drafting you will need to post your lineup on the Team Thread. (On the same post) First list your batting order including DH if you have one. Then list your bench players. Then list Starting Pitchers in order you want them to pitch. Then list your Bull Pen.

We should post some stats with our teams... Can we agree on a few to include?

I've included career totals in my team posted above. I like that Bums posted the best season numbers. Should we also include peak figures? (Top five or ten year totals?)

We shoud agree on the format and what to include so we can compare the rosters fairly...

It has been posted that we are going off peak years, not career. We usually post any stats we want on this thread, just the batting order, rotation order, bullpen and bench on the team page

Yeah, I realized peaks were being used (after I drafed most of my team)... It probably would have only changed my later picks...

So there are no standards for comparisons? Just post the best stats for your players here?

When the voting begins, will there be threads for each match-up? With discussions?

It doesn't realy matter. World Championships are team accomplishments. They should have little bearing on a players analysis. Hopefully no one thinks a player is better because he was lucky enough to be on a World Series team. That would be like saying Joe DiMaggio was better than Ted Williams because he won a bunch of WS...

It depends on the role the player had. If he were their ace, or star of team, it means a lot. If he's a bench warmer, not much. Example, listing Enmity Smith as a 3 time Super Bowl Champ us pertinent because he was the main reason they made it. If you said, say, Sherman Williams, not so much

I agree Championships should have no influence on someones vote... Being on a great team can have an affect on a players stats, should we mark down certain players for playing on better teams? If Derek Jeter is drafted by the Padres is he a hall of famer?
