Lmao. Ray Allen played with Lebron. He’s probably the most qualified along with Vince Carter who’s still in the league. What are your qualifications again? Internet analytics?

You rank Kobe over LeBron, but so far the only reason you've presented is these comments by a few older players. Not very persuasive.

Ray Allen is not a logical case? Vince Carter? Those 2 are the most qualified. KG and Paul Pierce. Rondo. Artest

to an analytics nerd like yourself sure. But these are his actual peers that played against all 3

I honestly don’t think peers are necessarily most qualified to judge. You get some really wild and crazy answers when you ask players these types of questions.

They are emotionally invested and that absolutely influences their answers.

It's a very tough argument to make to say that Kobe is above LeBron.

Through 15 full seasons LeBron averages more pts, rebs, asts, stls, blks, has a better FG % and even a better 3 pt %.

And I'm guessing the emotional factor usually favors Kobe for most people. On top of that, LeBron isn't the most likable person to begin with.

Especially right now considering the circumstances.

Ask Ray Allen that question in 10 years and he will probably have a different answer.

Pretty sure you are way more emotional invested than Ray Allen or Vince Carter or Paul Pierce. They all guarded all 3 of these guys.

goodness man that’s hilarious

Different sport, but whenever peers have voted for players in baseball (ie., Gold Gloves, HOF Veterans Committee), it often ended up with a lot of questionable decisions...you get headscratchers like Derek Jeter with multiple gold gloves or Rafael Palmeiro winning a gold glove despite being DH, or Jack Morris and Harold Baines in the HOF.

NBA doesn't have this type of voting system for anything meaningful, but I wouldn't doubt that there would be a lot of questionable votes if they did...

And LeBron isn't even done. He's already past Kobe anyway.

Really?

You think someone who sits on their couch watching games is less emotionally invested than players who competed with and had personal relationships with these players?

Also given the fact that Kobe died in a tragic accident just a couple months ago?

LOL. That is funny.

I don’t need to watch it.

It really isn’t close between LeBron and Kobe.

You do realize that I rank LeBron #2 right?

As in behind Jordan?

Yup. There's bias involved, and maybe these guys are too busy to really take a good look before they vote. But even when sports writers vote, it can be questionable. I just think awards are often based on popularity and reputation, and maybe even agenda. A lot of baseball and basketball players received defensive awards later in their career when they were really not defensive stalwarts anymore.
