The only issue I'd have with Pinkel here, and this may be what Bayou was getting at too, is if him saying "The Mizzou Family stands as one. We are united. We are behind our players." means he's not participating/coaching too. If that's the case, he can pack his shit too imo. At the very least, suspend his pay if possible.

I wasn't aware he supported the boycott. That's a game changer. No pun intended.

How dare a coach support his players...

Not saying it's a fault.

Just that it makes more of an issue regarding a potential firing than if he were to remain silent and say he 'hopes a resolution can be found', or something else neutral.

He's a paid employee with a responsibility to coach games.

I suspect he was making a more generalized claim about all of the players. Somehow he's got to pacify his employees, athletes and boss. Shit spot for the poor bastard. I'd find a fcs school to go to.

:tsk:

Never mind about that. His support seems to be outright. I'd like to hear him elaborate. See if he knows something we don't.

It does suck for him. I wholeheartedly respect his decision to stand behind his players. The School pays your salary, but when you recruited these guys you said you had their back. If I was a high school player getting recruited by him that would be a selling point.

Administrators do the hiring. If they can't trust him too, I doubt they'll be apt to hire him. He probably should have just stfu and stayed behind the scenes for now.

Does someone have a link to where he says he'll boycott as well?

If so, that's where he's putting his job at jeopardy IMO.

He has a responsibility to his employer.

Notice this only ever happens with teams that suck ... or are just not good.

When "saying mean things" involves drawing pictures on the wall using shit, yes.
Should have been an investigation and they should have been expelled.

Besides condemning it and possibly using campus police to investigate it, what could be done?

In all honesty, after watching this president in action I'm starting to think it has more to do with people despising his ass than even necessarily the larger issues at play.

Um - that's the problem. These sort of occurrences are not being investigated, and no one is being disciplined.

The swastika incident definitely should be investigated still, but I'm not sure you can investigate people saying mean shit.

assuming of course that they are even students at the school...many times the colleges are surrounded by less than stellar town folks that are not as proud of the institution
