What do you think should be the minimum number of wins to make a bowl game? Do you like it the way it is, or do you prefer another number?

Poll forthcoming.

EDIT: Multiple voting allowed in case you like cheese puffs and want to participate in the real poll.

Post this question one year from now, and people will laugh at you. The playoffs will make everyone too distracted to care whether a team in some bowl is 8-4 or 6-6. Everything else will be strictly a sideshow.

IMO - 6 wins is too few. Losing a bowl game means ending the season with a losing record. WTF is that?

7 wins is plausible but in a 12-game season I like the number 8 most. 8 means you've won two-thirds of your games. That's respectable. 9 wins (75%) might be a bit too harsh (although I prefer it to 6 wins), therefore 8 is a nice balance.

I'm glad the days of losing two games in two seasons and not making a bowl game are gone, but this 6 win shit is bullshit.

This is all pointless talk, of course. There's too much money wrapped up in bowl games to start eliminating them. It's still fun to discuss, however.

6 wins is basically it right now because you've got 30+ bowls out there. Unless they start cutting down the number of bowls, 6-6 or 7-6 if you happen to play a 13 game season that year is going to be it.

Everything is a side show now who remembers who won last year's Alamo a Bowl or who was number 4 in the country? Bowl games exist for one reason: We watch them and they can sell advertising while they are on and it won't change.

You think Texas fans will not care if they beat Baylor if they are not going to be in the playoff?
Think USC will tank a game because there is nothing to play for?
Think Troy is going to try less to beat that SEC school they scheduled them for Homecoming?

Lots of sideshows in CFB and we love everyone of them.

What does it matter? It doesn't take anything away from the other bowls to have extra ones. Everyone knows the teams that did well that particular year. Everyone knows the good match-ups.

\Problem, as stated yesterday, is Texas got put in a game where they had to play a team that was a lot stronger and the reason was for money being the game was played in that state. Doesn't sound like proper match-ups to me.

Just remove 1-AA / FCS wins entirely from counting.

I like the bowl games, but there should be a consequence for playing lower division teams.

You can schedule them to get reps, game experience, and money for attendance.

But, don't let them count towards the 6 wins. It adds a consequence for cupcaking.

Simple, Easy, and virtually costfree to implement which drastically improves the product.

Nobody will ever schedule 2 of them anymore (Texas A&M where you at....) and less likely to schedule any FCS team at all.

CFB fans would win!

A&M had no choice when they switched conferences since they needed another non conference opponent to replace Arkansas with.

There needs to be enough bowl games so that every team in Division 1 gets to play in one.

Trophies for everybody! Wooohooo!

Divide the # of NCAA FCS school by 2, that is the number of bowl games there will be.

125/2 = 62 games.

The odd one left out is crowned the worst team and gets a trophy for it.
