Read a article on espn that says Wallace could be a interesting fit for SF. He is a res FA and with the new rules SF could offer him a contract and if Pitt cant match all we give up is this years 1st rd pick. Pitt doesnt have a lot of cap space to match. Of course you have to wonder if Wallace would want to come here. How would you guys feel about it?

Depending on the size of the contract, I would be willing to part with #30 in this year's draft for Wallace.

I'd rather add a young first rounder and free agent WR instead of adding Wallace. As much as I like Wallace he still doesn't fill our need for size on the outside.

He does fit our need for a capable vertical threat and should potentially cost less then one of the URFA out right now.

We don't have the QB that mates well with Wallace IMO.

There should also be several free agent WRs that cost less. We don't need to blow our load on one guy unless it is VJ and he won't cost a first round pick.

I think Wallace is too one dimensional. He has the speed, and a hell of a lot of it. But we also need that big redzone threat. I really want Vincent jackson, but he will be very expensive. but we will soon fined out!

Wow some of you I can tell have never seen Wallace play, he is a total WR, and I have watched him play a lot and he's a better WR then injury prone Vjax. He goes across the middle and can beat any CB deep, and hes what 25, 26 years old. And I just read an article that Wallace mentioned the 49ers and Pats as 2 teams he has looked at.

Wallace has averaged over 1,200 yards and 9 Tds the past 2 seasons.
Vjaxn hasnt even hit the 1,200 mark in his career and thats 7 seasons

Wallace is the real deal. I'd easily give up a first rounder to sign Wallace. He's the explosive #1 the Niners need.

I wouldn't be upset it the NIners signed him, but I'd rather go to the draft for WRs this offseason.

Who could we possibly get with our first round pick that would be better than Mike Wallace? I agree he doesn't exactly fit our system with Alex at QB, but he is one of the top 5 WR's in the league. I would not be upset if we were give up our first round pick for him.

Nobody. But it comes down to this: Which is gerater?

Wallace

or

Vincent Jackson + Peter Konz + more money

or

Kendal Wright + Carl Nicks + more money

or

Reuben Randle + Robert Mathis + more money

It's actually a close call IMO, but I'd give the edge to the pick + other FAs.

Also I'll bet the Steelers make it so the Niners would have to give up a 1st and a 3rd.
