You CornDaddies are going to get a 'Pro-style" NFL type Offense. Riley has coached a ton of goodies in the Pac. QB Mannion being the best of late. Riley likes a balance of run-n-pass. Loves TEs for blocking and receiving. Entertaining to say the least.

Bill Callahan brought us a pro style offense too, and it sucked along with his coaching.

And yes Riley may just be a yes man.

Wait? So now Bo not being a "yes man" is good, and he should of been fired, but the new guy is obviously a "yes man" for some reason that you see because you don't like the hire?

Well I've been thinking about this all day and I can't see SE not already having something else up his sleeve before he pulled the trigger and let out the news about Riley.

While I'm banking on that, I have to say that since I was hopeful to see Bo canned since last season, and I got what I wanted, that I have to be accepting of the next guy and at least give him a chance.

as I've said many times before in this thread: CORRECT ME IF IM WRONG, I've only been a full fledged fan through one major coaching change at nebraska (HHSNBN to BOP) but i don't think its very common for an AD to hire a HC and say "Now Riley,____ and ____ are going to be you're next DC and OC and thats how it is"….am i wrong? as far as i know, ADs don't hire guys and tell them who their staff will be so i really don't see the point of your comment there

again, only my 2 cents, but I'm fairly certain my 2 cents are worth a full 2 cents on this post here

Agreed!!!! So not sure where JJM and some others are coming from with their support being based on x and y being hired for offensive and defensive coordinators being already in place?

Eichorst claims he didn't ask Bo to fire any coordinators so why would he hire a new coach and hire his assistants?????

Fact: We have Mike Riley as a head football coach and all your pipe dreams about Frost OC and that a stud DC will be brought in are just as silly as thinking sweater was coming here.....

I am more positive though that Riley said he wants to hire coaches that are smarter than him.....something Bo would never do or contemplate doing....

We will have to wait and see how his entire coaching staff shapes up, but it isn't going to be what us dolts on the internet can throw together as our Santa wish list.....

Look at Riley's records. Eichorst couldn't have possibly hired Riley because of his records at Oregon State, so it appears he hired him because he won't argue with him like Bo did.

And everyone knows that it is easier to do that in basketball than football. Riley was at a huge disadvantage at OSU. That's about to change for him at Nebraska.

You clearly have no clue how tough it is to win at Oregon St. This guy has been offered some of the highest profile jobs in cfb. He has turned down Alabama and USC (twice) just to name a couple. When programs like that are offering you their HC job, that's says a lot, imo.

Also, of all of the big time programs, he and Nebraska seem to be a perfect fit (which is probably why he took the job when he's turned down 'Bama and USC). He takes 3 star talent and coaches them up. Imagine what he'd do with the talent that Nebraska gets.

I've seen various Husker fans complain about talent not being developed under Pelini. Well, now you have a guy who actually does develop talent.

I know one thing for sure, you're quarterback play is about to get a lot better.

From the tweet Tressel posted earlier today... He sounded pissed. He made the post right before the announcement. Some boomerang analogy basically saying "what goes around comes around". Sounds like maybe eichorst pulled the plug on the Tressel deal last second.

Eichorst dumped Tressel for Riley?! If this is true, I better not go to any Nebraska games because if I see Eichorst, I would give him a couple of very fast and hard knuckle sandwiches.
