New Era Huskers
Well, if Riley doesn't get it done, I'm sure we'll all have something to say about it.
After this sitting all day
I honestly do absolutely love this hire.
What if he just brings in randoms as assistants?
What if he just brings in randoms as assistants?
What if he doesn't? What if his assistants are "knock it out of the park" choices? Proven winners who would make even Bo look like a genius. (I know, that bar ain't real high anyway.)
I say give him and who ever it is he brings with him a fair chance.
That's what I'm really getting at. In a round-about way.
We don't know anything about where we're headed until we see the staff.
Riley is a former pro coach. look out!
So is Nick Saban. Being a former pro coach does not in and of itself mean that you are going to be a bad coach at the college level.
CHILL
The last two coaches had NFL ties, and Callahan actually had some very good success. How did that turn out?! On the other hand, Pelini could have had great success if he wasn't too stubborn to hire some solid assistants.
I'm going to run out of hands after this, but take a gander at Riley's records at Oregon State. Considering Nebraska doesn't have a recruiting edge here like in some of those southern schools, we can expect the same kind of bullshit here. Bo is a better coach than Riley is. This is a couple of levels below a lateral hire.
