Huwaryu is a South Carolina Gamecocks fan and changes the team icons almost daily.

Oh, no humor then, unless you think about the fact that someone would actually claim to be an asshole, I mean Wisconsin fan.

I was going to say here's to you eating those words but this fucking B1G schedule won't put us together until 2018.
If only you could make it to Indianapolis once in awhile.

I'm sure Jim Harbaugh won't have a problem making it there.

The guy was a half quarter from having the freaking OS Beavers in the Rose Bowl >5 years ago.

The BEAVERS!

He will bring big ass tough as nails Somans and Tongans to Lincoln by the scad. He will bring speedsters like NFL players Quiz Rodgers, Markus Wheaton, and Brandin Cooks. He will bring NFL arms like Moore, Anderson , and Mannion to Lincoln.

He can get these guys to Corvallis, I can only imagine who he will bring to Lincoln.

As long as TE98 thinks it is a shit hire, the more I trust this is a homerun for the Huskers.

I've always respected Riley, and he has pulled off some major upsets in Corvalis with some severely inferior teams. He'll be able to land much better talent overall at Nebraska, and he has proven he can mold that talent throughout his career.

Fully on board with the anti-Pelini.

Left on December 2 no less. So it is not some angry Nebraska fan, which leaves me out.

I enjoy your work and find it interesting. As a 40+ year fan of Oregon State I find it incredible that Mike Riley can still have a positive coaching effect. We rarely beat good teams anymore and often have bad losses (Sac State, E Washington, Cal & WSU this year). In the past 4 years my view is he has a negative coaching effect of at least 1 game a year (2 top 25 wins & 6 losses against teams ranked lower than 50 by Sagarin at year end in the past 4 years). He no longer (and has not for 5 years been a good coach). His time is over.

What's with all the Washington fans in this thread circle jerking Mike Riley?

Not just Washington fans. Fans of all PAC-12 teams have nothing but respect and admiration for him.

Also, contrary to what someone posted, PAC fans aren't being nice about him because we were "kicking his ass every year" either. Every top PAC team knows that going into Corvallis to face Riley's teams was never an easy task or guaranteed win. Hell, his teams cost USC at least one and possibly 2 NCG appearances.

If PAC teams were "kicking Riley's ass every year" don't you think we'd be talking about how we wished he'd stay rather than wishing him well?

Oregon St. has been competing in a Power 5 Conference with a lower tier mid-level conference budget and facilities. If Phil Knight had been an Oregon St. grad instead of an Oregon grad, 'Husker fans would be walking around with 24/7 boners at Nebraska having hired Riley. However, he wouldn't be available.

BTW, am I the only one that laughed at the guy with the gay avatar trying to call someone else out for wanting to have gay sex? Anyone? Seriously exes, until you are finally over that penalty I'd really not go down that road. It just doesn't have the same juice.

Yeah, was thinking same. With that avi, it comes off more like sexual harrassment.

I keep reading excuses for his mediocrity at Oregon State. How'd he do with the Chargers?

Ah, here it is.... 14-34. Ouch.

Corvallis and tough Pac-10 recruiting weren't the culprits there, I wouldn't think.

How'd Nick Saban do in the NFL? How'd Pete Carroll do in his first stint as an NFL coach? How'd Spurrier do in the NFL?

Lack of success in the NFL doesn't necessarily mean lack of success in college football.

Check out Saban, Holtz, or Spurrier and get back to me.

I know he recruited the Samoans quite well but that is west coast. We are mid west. I don't expect that so much but that's okay. It would be great but don't expect them to be too excited about moving to Nebraska.

Ever been to Corvallis? Won't be much different.

Apples to oranges. Riley hasn't had the success in college of those coaches. Rather, he's had the excuses of apparently being shackled by the Oregon State program. So now we look to how he did when he wasn't shackled by the Oregon State program.

Alas, no better.

TexasExes98 made a bet and lost. He is honoring the bet.

We are aware of that. It still doesn't bode well for him to make gay jokes while sporting it. Kind of takes something off it a bit don't you think?

You have to realize how many times he brought a knife to a gun fight. Everybody think good coaches can win anywhere. Like I said the last 60 years of OSU football have had 2 coaches with winning records. PAC outlawed partial qualifiers after the other coach succeeded. That is about all I have on the subject. IF Nebraska fans think he sucks and dont support him, you will get your self-fulfilling wish
