He has Josh Robinson as the 4th rated CB now ahead of Gilmore? I think he may be getting over rated because of his combine.

Which is a little weird since I believe that's the guy Mayock said doesn't play anywhere near his times speed at the combine.

He takes too many chances and is really, really raw in coverage.

The guy is super explosive though with amazing closing speed. I think he'll make a pretty good FS in the NFL a la a Morgan Burnett or Malcolm Jenkins.

He has finally come to his senses by listing Dontari Poe as the best DT in this year's draft class.

I'm not sure I agree with dropping Devon Still out of the top 5 DTs. Poe may be the best prospect athletically, but he didn't produce like it. I'm surprised by a bunch of those rankings actually.

I'm tripping out. I just looked up his times at the combine and he wasn't a top performer in the 3 cone and 20 yard shuttle with those times, WTF.

Oh ok, top performer is first place. I was thinking it was in the top 10.
Now it looks like nfl.com just fucked up on his profile page and should have given him blue stars because top performer isn't just first place.

Hemmingway was incredible in the 3 cone and 20 yard shuttle.

I'd take Sanu or Randle over Stephen Hill or Alshon Jeffery.

I don't know. If he is still there at 30, his size and athleticism would be too much to pass up. All he needs is someone to convince him that meticulous routes and smart investments will make him, his entire family and great great great great great grandkids all millionaires.

I would be happy with any of the three over Jeffery, and I thought he would be a top-10 pick after his freshman season. Amazing what a couple of years can change.

I would take Hill over the other three without hesitation.

That's the thing. He didn't do much at Georgia Tech besides run go routes. Do we need a down field burner or a guy who can help pick up first downs?

A burner for a couple of years, then a great route-runner with All-Pro possibilities in year 3. You can't teach that size, speed and hands. It's probably moot because I don't see him lasting past the Texans. Either way, I would be fine with Sanu or Randle, unless, by some miracle, Peter Konz is still on the board. I'm also fine with trading back because Sanu or Randle might still be around for the first five picks of the second round.

Mel Kiper's Top 5 prospects by position:

Ranking the top five QBs, RBs, DEs, LBs and every other position in the 2012 draft class

The players are now through the NFL combine. Indianapolis performances are reflected here, with some guys moved up or down based on results there. Next up will be pro days, and from that process, expect to see more tweaks than dramatic shifts. But there are some signifcant names here who will be testing for scouts for the first time in that setting.

To give you a better sense of depth beyond the usual Big Board, this list consists of the top five prospects by position for the 2012 NFL draft. (As a note: Two players on this list, in cornerbacks and kickers, don't have team logos in the system, which is why that spot is blank. Those would be North Alabama and Western Missouri State.)

Not so sure about his hands. According to Mayock he had 5 or 6 drops last year.

Mayock: Drops won't hurt WR Hill

WR Stephen Hill's bad drops in 2011 shouldn't hurt him in the draft, NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock said. “I counted five or six drops among 28 catches,” he said. “But when you watch him catch the ball, he's a natural hands catcher so I think it's more concentration and discipline than anything else.”

I do agree with you about Konz if he's still there. If not, trading back and trying to pick up Randle or Sanu early 2nd sounds good to me.

Yeah. Two picks in the 2nd and 4th would be fine by me. There are a lot of depth/"future consideration for aging player" issues that can be addressed rather well in the first four rounds of this draft.

From my evaluation, Sanu and Randle do have better hands than Hill, but not by enough to make me happy with passing on him at 30 (which again, I would be shocked if he fell that far). If he doesn't let the ball get into his chest, he is fine by me. He is just young, but I haven't read anything that makes me think he is overly immature (seemingly the only barrier between his current state and greatness).

let me correct his statement 'he's a natural hands catcher, they're just made of stone'
