Here is my annual Fantasy Strength of Schedule (or FSOS) for each NFL team for 2022.

The FSOS is different from the typical SOS because it does NOT measure wins and losses.
Instead, the FSOS ranks each opposing defense in (1) yards allowed, (2) points allowed, (3) turnovers and (4) sacks.

These defensive categories impact the offense more than wins and losses.
Each of these 4 defensive categories are ranked, then averaged for each NFL team.
Then each rankings is bounced off the opponents schedule.
The lower the number, the tougher the defensive opponent schedule.

Red is bad. Green is soft.

This is early thanks, in part, to CBS for posting each NFL teams' opponent.

And in case you were wondering, 8 of the 14 playoff teams from 2021 came from the second column.

Well, I think you can safely omit JAX, HOU, DET, MIA and most likely the Saints from that potential. .....

Never say never. Especially prior to free agency.
I mean, Cincy was in last year's second column. Not too many saw them making the playoffs.

I mean… Having your #1 overall pick QB available to play makes a bit of a difference there… (doubt it will make any difference in Jax still, but…)

Let me just add that the purpose behind the FSOS chart is to give fantasy owners an idea of which team will faceoff against the most porous defenses.

Now granted, there may not be a huge difference between #1 and #32. However, if the majority of playoff teams are coming out of the second column, then it is reasonable to conclude they are scoring more points, and by extension, accumulating more yardage in order to be in a position to win more games.

Ultimately, that is the goal of fantasy, right? To guestimate which player will give you the best chance to gain the most yardage and score the most points.

From a fantasy perspective, players that are on teams in that second column may project better than comparable players in the first column based on their opponents.

Here is a Fantasy Strength of Schedule for the DST.
Similar to my other FSOS, this only captures yards and points scored by opposing offenses on the current schedule (based on 2021's stats.)
I did not add turnovers or sacks allowed into this.

Again, red is tough. Green is soft.
Looks like the Rams DST meet against some of the more powerful offenses.
While the Ravens may not have to try very hard on defense to keep their opponents to low yardage and scoring.

When are NFL training camp roster cut-down days?

Teams open camp with a maximum of 90 players of their rosters. Teams then will trim down to the 53-player regular-season rosters in a series of three cut-down dates in August. On Aug. 16, teams must trim rosters from 90 to 85 players; from 85 to 80 players on Aug. 23, and finally from 80 to 53 players on Aug. 30.

TRAINING CAMP PUP
per the NFL.com
Players on PUP during camp can be activated any time up until the season, but if they remain sidelined once rosters are finalized, they are required to miss at least four games.

This was out of curiosity.
Totaled up all standard scoring fantasy points for each player on each team.
Some years ago I remember reading a draft rule that warned about stockpiling players from bad teams.
Well, there may be some merit to that.
