game #77 this Saturday...
Notre Dame leads the series with Michigan State, 47-28-1, including a 28-13 record in South Bend.
Michigan State and Notre Dame have split its last 10 meetings with one another, but the Irish have captured three of the last four meetings. The Spartans had captured nine of the previous 12, including six straight at Notre Dame Stadium (1997-2007).
Over the last 13 meetings, the Notre Dame-Michigan State game has been decided by a touchdown or less on nine different occasions, with the game-winning score coming late in the fourth quarter or overtime in eight of the 13 meetings.
game #76 was the latest of gawd-knows how many embarrassments the Irish have laid on Sparty since I've been fanning this rivalry (1966) - popping #10 MSU's bubble 20-3 in East Lansing.
the line is -7...should probably add another -3 for home field...say -10. Both teams have concerns...both have a lot to prove. Will Sparty's anemic offense or ND's questionable defense come to play? dammit, I hope they both do! It might not be the game of the week but it's almost guaranteed to entertain several million fans, again.
Burning Sofa Homer Prediction: MSU 31 - ND 27
