Joe Johnson another who has struggled tonight and really hurt our chances. Not as assertive as he needed to be tonight early on and the has hurt us. Maybe the Heat were expecting Gerald to carry them again after last night

Agree. With Wade out and obviously no Bosh, Joe should be the one to carry us.....Haven't done that the last 2 nights.

Hope these next 2 days off this team can clean up some of the bad things that took place on this roadtrip

The inconsistencies of this team continue. The playoffs are a completely different monster -- Good or bad, nothing carries over for this team - the consistency necessary to be successful in the playoffs has yet to be put together by this team

More importantly get healthy. And I think its interesting that other than mentioning the injury report, Ira and the Heat have said nothing of CB in quite some time like they had been a few weeks ago -- could a surprise playoff return be in store? I can dream.

I would hope he comes back....Because it makes no sense why they just don't declare him out for the season if they have no plans of allowing him to return

IMO, they haven't done so because there IS a possibility he returns -- Also, unless there is a rule requiring them to do so after a certain point -- they won't. Gamesmanship in a way? Leaving themselves with the chance to surprise an opponent with his return down the road.

But, if we play like we did tonight and against the LA Fakers -- and far too many other times this season -- the Heat will be one and done in the playoffs no matter the opponent.

The Heat will be one and done in the playoffs no matter the opponent with or without CB if we play like we did tonight and against the LA Fakers and too many other times

Not a fan of moral victories, you know it -- But at least tonight we have clinched the playoffs -- albeit thanks to the help of another opponent.

I know there is one clown on this board who will find a way to belittle our accomplishment even after last season and is actually probably disappointed we are making it to the playoffs given how much he talked about the Heat being a lottery team and draft picks.

MIA 22 20 25 7 74
POR 20 39 28 11 98

Second quarter was lethal for us tonight with our struggles that quarter - much as was the case against the LA Fakers which contributed to the second half collapse - some dumbass will still point to the third quarter garbage

17 point loss -- not as bad as it once looked and could've been. Oh well, at least we clinched tonight. On to the next one

Most of the concern prior to this season was how Dwyane Wade would handle back-to-backs.

And while Wade missed both ends of the most recent one -- including Saturday's 110-93 blitzing by the Blazers -- he has participated in the back end of 11 sets. His shooting, predictably, has suffered some; he's at 40 percent in those 11 games, compared to 47 percent on one day rest, and 49 percent on two days rest.

His backcourt partner, Goran Dragic, wasn't projected to have the same problems.

But after an uneven performance in Portland, a trend has clearly developed.

Dragic has shot 48.3 percent on one day rest and 50.5 percent on two days rest, but just 43.6 percent without a day's rest.

His turnovers also spike from 2.4 in the first two situations, to 3.3 on the back end of back-to-back's.

He often has taken longer to get to his game, and then had more trouble staying with it.

The good news for Miami is there are only two such sets left -- which means you'll need to see what happens Friday in Orlando and the following Wednesday in Boston, which is the final game of the regular season.

And then, there aren't any back-to-back sets in the playoffs.

The backcourt will get the rest it needs then, even as the pressure mounts.

Just two back-to-backs left, which is good for Heat backcourt | Heat Check

Going to challenge this team to go 4-0 this week. Home games against Detroit and Chicago before ending the week with a Home & Home set with Orlando
