Not the most encouraging of words from our leader
So Amare is pretty upset about going from starter to DNP-CD. I don't blame him in the least bit. That's pretty messed up to be honest with you. He's been starting for 2+ months straight and has been doing what was asked for him. Whiteside replacing him in the starting lineup was eventually going to happen but to not play him at all is a slap in the face. McRoberts is not better than Amare and actually does less on the court than Amare. This organization just wants to force McRoberts in the rotation because they don't want that contract to end up being one of the worse contracts in Heat history. At this point you need to play your best players. Amare has been better than Josh all season long.
Slap in the face ? boo fucking hoo. He needs to just grow a pair and learn to deal with it just like he was doing so prior to getting his first chances with the Heat earlier in the season. Gerald Green, has been through the same as far as going from getting regular PT to getting none at all... all he did when that happen was realize his struggles, get in the gym and work on his game and stayed ready for when he was called upon.
Granted, Amare is in no slump - but in no hot streak either -- This is just what being apart of the Heat organization is about. Realizing and accepting that you may not play for days at a time.
The Amare and Gerald Green situations are not similar. The Heat signed a player who was clearly better than him and has backed up his numbers since getting here. Also as you mentioned, Green was in a 2 month long slump. In the Amare situation he was just replaced by the worse player on the roster who's played like shit for his entire 2 years here
They are similar in that they both have had stretches where they have played and then stretches where they haven't - regardless of the reasons why. I still have faith in McRob and everyone else on this roster
McRob is trash bro
