"On paper, there is no doubting that the Dolphins have solidified the offensive line with the addition of Armstead. Once the pads come on, though, a new question will have to be answered: How long can Miami celebrate the addition of Armstead before worrying about an unforeseen subtraction from the lineup?"

The Fins added another solid veteran. Ingram will provide depth at DE.

RE the Oline depth and Armstead. The chances are good that he stays in the lineup without major injury. Jackson and Eichenburg, among others will be competing for a spot at RT and a backup LT spot.

The Fins have more depth at OG. Center is the only spot that I have a concern about depth. JC Trettor is available. He's a great pass blocker but he missed a lot of games last year due to injury. I think he wants all guaranteed money. That's probably delayed him from being signed. Williams is a possibility at the position. If you look at Brady. He has had very good centers his whole career.

The Fins Oline coaches will be better than in years past. It will be interesting to see how much they can help with the development of the players. I guy like Hunt has been solid. He could become even better.

I misspoke. JC Trettor didn't miss games last year but didn't practice with the team due to injury concerns.

The Fins will have very good resources in the next draft. They should pick the best center available to develop for the future.

I agree on Hunt likely continuing to improve.
Why are the "chances good" for Armstead to stay in the line-up?
He has averaged 8 games per season over a long career. Players rarely improve after 9 years.
Armstead won't be working the QB's blind side even when he is in the game.
I still see your O-line as being your weakest point.
I'm still not sold on Hill being a wise pickup for this offense. We'll have to wait on that one.....

With all due respect, I will trust McDaniel's evaluation of the Oline more than yours Southieinnc. He said recently that this group of Olinemen are as athletic as any group that he has coached. Based on what he did with the 49ers I expect that he will bring the best out of these guys.

Flores is a defensive coach. The Fins have an Oline run game specialist with McDaniel. If you are counting on these guys not improving you will be disappointed.

RE Armstead: Your only hope is that he gets injured because you know the talent that he has when he plays. I wouldn't count on him or any of the Fins players being injured. It's just not a certainty.

Improvement? Check. Easy to see coming from the worst O-line in the NFL
McDaniel? check he will be a better offensive option. Will it happen immediately?
Armstead good? Check. He does not play on QB's blindside, if he plays most of the season
McDaniels evaluation of O-line? Check, certainly more reliable than mine - or should be.....

Waddle and Hill are in the national media regarding a race between the two. Does it really matter who is faster other than an individual ego thing? The point of having them both on the roster along with other speed burners like Mostert is that while playing together they cause matchup problems for the defense.
The ghost of Tyreek Hill?

I want Hill in a padded room when he’s not practicing.

I am liking the Connor Williams at center idea. He may not have much starting center experience but he has plenty of NFL experience. In addition, Williams is known for his strength in the running game. He could also give the QB more time. Williams is known for his high IQ. That's important at center.

This is the Olineup from what I have gathered so far. All of the guys have NFL experience. It's very different from a bunch of rookies in years past.

Armstead LT, Eichenberg LG, Williams center, Hunter RG, Jackson at RT

That is an improvement from last season.

The backup talent on the oline is solid.

On a different note: I am glad the Fins landed DeVonte Dedmon. I am thinking that he will prove to be a good kick off and punt returner.

I'm thinking the Dolphins should be rated higher than this......

Looks like a hit-piece against the entire AFCE

The Fins will need to prove it. That said, it should be obvious that there is talent with the Fins RBs. All the guys have been starters before. I like the depth of the group.

Patriots sign another center to keep him away from the Dolphins?

McDaniels isn't going to micromanage his players personal lives. That's good for the players but can lead to distractions. Fans and media overreacted to Hill. Hill showed support for his QB. It's common knowledge that Tua is exceptionally accurate. That's what Hill was saying too. He never said, Tua is better.

I am thinking Tyreek Hill will prove that he can be a playmaker with the Fins. He just needs to say " Mahommes is a great QB but my focus is on building chemistry with Tua"

Yep or they can push Hunt to RT although I'd be happier with a vet RT getting signed. Either way they are better with Conner Williams. He rated better than everyone on the oline last year.

Connor Williams experiment is not going great

Prior to practice, McDaniel spoke about his confidence in Williams to find his rhythm with snapping. However, when they hit the practice field, it was once again a tough day for the guard-turned-center. Multiple snaps were high and he had a last one low to Skylar Thompson. This can’t be an issue this season.

How much longer is it going to take Connor Williams to get the shotgun snap corrected?

Hey Mark, that is an excellent question and one that I would think would be concerning to the Dolphins. Now, let me point out that not one of the bad snaps has gone completely over the head of the quarterback, but there have been too many where either Tua or Teddy have had to reach up to grab the ball and that affects the timing of whatever play is called. So my answer is it better be soon or the Dolphins are going to have to start thinking about finding a new center and moving Williams back to guard.
