I will be rooting for New England.

Because, I think there is a fair chance that Brady and Belichek both ride off into the sunset if they win this year. I am ready for it to be over.

I don't see them retiring after this year. Brady just isn't ready yet. Gisele needs to put her foot down!!

I will not be rooting fer New England................because who knows how long it takes the Rams to get back there! Well, and I'm a Ram fan. Gotta say though, out of the rest of the NFC teams I would be rooting fer the Skins against almost any AFC team in the SB..............

Unfortunately Sam, I don't think either of us will have to to worry about rooting for the Skins in the Super Bowl for at least 20 or 30 years.

I agree that he has some left in the tank. But.....

Gronk is nearing the end, and rumor is that all the NE assistants are looking elsewhere because they think the end is near. If Brady and Belichek feel the same way, you never know. They might opt to retire on top like Peyton did.

I am still rooting for the Lions to win another playoff game.

I knew it was 28 years ago but screw the Redskins for knocking off the Lions in their only NFC championship game

Awesome so we're still ahead of Washington, Detroit, Cleveland, and Cincinnati. I don't count Houston because the Texans were founded in 2002. And it's not really looking good for any of us with the longest streaks to put an end to them any time soon either.

Yes but Houston fans may count Houston.
Taking the Oilers out of the equation, the Texans are the only franchise not to get there.
All other 31 NFL teams have been represented.
In fact, the Seahawks did it in both conferences.

Since 1986, Bill Belichick has coached in 36% of superbowls.

Chew on that.

Up there with
DiMaggio's 56 game hit streak.
Ripken's consecutive games played.
Gretzky's points lead even after subtracting all goals.

What else comes to mind for you in untouchable records?

That stat is extensively tainted though. Never seen a team be so controversially successful.

Pretty much any career pitching record in baseball (wins, losses, complete games, shutouts, innings pitched etc.) the game is too different for any of that stuff to ever be touched.

Sam Crawford's 309 career triples

Byron Nelson's 11 consecutive tournament wins in golf

Jerry Rice's receiving yards and receiving touchdowns

Connie Mack's lifetime wins as a manager in baseball (he's almost 1000 games ahead of 2nd place John McGraw)

Pete Rose's 4256 hits

Johnny Vandemeer's back-to-back no hitters in baseball

The Oklahoma Sooners winning 47 straight games in college football

Michael Phelps's 8 gold medals in one Olympics

Nadal's 10 French Opens and 81 straight wins on clay

Martina Navratolova's 354 combined singles, doubles, and mixed doubles wins (talk about nobody else even being close, 2nd place is a tie between Billie Jean King and Chris Evert at 175!)

Edwin Moses's 122 consecutive wins

That's some off the top of my head although I did have to look up the actual numbers for the last 3.

Most impressive thing about that streak to me was that he pitched complete games in all of those games that included the 59 innings and those games were in September in the thick of the pennant race. The last four innings of his last start in August of which he went 9 total (+4 innings), then five straight complete game shutouts (+45 innings), then 10 innings of shutout ball in his last regular season start before he was pulled out of a 0-0 game. He then went on to pitch 8 straight scoreless innings in his first post-season start against the Mets, so really his streak was 67 scoreless innings. He was one of the last of the "I started this game and I'm finishing this game" kind of guys with Jack Morris. As an A's fan in the 80's I didn't truly appreciate the streak at the time since his Dodgers went on to beat my A's in the World Series that year (Fucking Kirk Gibson, really Eckersley, throw the guy on one leg a backdoor slider when he can't catch up to your fastball) but now that I'm older, the feat is that much more impressive to me.

I never really thought about you being in STL. That was the closest MLB team to me growing up in TN. Ive been to Busch many times over. I had tons of fun. I caught a McGwire BP HR ball and got it signed by Johnny Damon when he was a member of the Royals. The night before I stayed at the hotel across the street and that is where the Royals team stayed. I ended up in the lobby hanging out with a few of their players, Ricky Bones is the only one I remember by name and a backup catcher at the time, and Bones remembered me the next day and I got his signature on the ball too.

One of my best childhood memories! He told me he was going to plunk Big Mac if he faced him to avoid giving up the homer lol
