That makes you the team to beat.

Yes, I believe they do have mobile aps. I think Treff and Philabuster both use them.

If I left somebody out of the list above, please let me know. I thought we had 9 without johnnydollaz listed twice, but maybe I was counting someone who was invited but did not accept.

I'm getting an error message. It says I cannot use this invite.
I am out of town for the weekend and will check in when I can and see if it is where I am or a screw up in the email.

Perhaps you were thinking of Barilko?

Aight, I'm in. Can't seem to add it to my desk top without having to jump through hoops but hey, I'll figure it out.

Ok, with my first attempt, not in love with the Fantrax draft room. Has anyone tried yet? If so, got any tips?

Never mind, pretty much figured it out. I would advise getting a little practice in, especially if you are used to Yahoo.

Now that most everybody is in, we need to start the secondary discussions.

First and foremost, the relegation policy:

I was thinking we should follow the lead of the football league as much as possible on this. One thing that they do (which is awesome) is that the two leagues essentially compete against each other all season long. If the B league outscores A, then more teams move up then they otherwise would. It adds another wrinkle to an already intense season, because you are not just competing against the owners in your league.

I have been thinking about how to do this literally since I started playing MBBRL football 2 years ago. Here is what I have come up with so far:

We either have 2 teams from each league move, or 4 depending on the results of the interleague competition.

We compete by summed category totals within each category. For example, at season's end, I would sum up the season HR total for every team in the A league and compare it to the same total in the Prospect League. The league with more wins that category. Categories like batting average, ERA and WHIP would be calculated using an arithmetic average of the 12 teams in each league rather that actually calculating those stats (sorry, but I am not Wil White and that would be crazy tedious to figure out the actual number).

At the end of the season, if the Prospect League wins more categories than the A league, then 4 teams move up. If the A league wins more, or if they are tied in categories, then only 2 teams move.

Here is how the teams would be determined in both scenarios:

2 up:

Regular season champ
Tournament Champ
Tournament Runner-up comes next if the first two are the same team

4 up:
Regular season champ
Tournament Champ
Regular Season Roto Champ
Tournament Runner-up
If any of these teams overlap, then the next movers would be the next highest ranked teams based on regular season standings

Now, here is where things get a little dicey. In the league set-up, I did not see an option to make a consolation bracket, so I had to select that I would manually input the playoff match-ups. I think that is the only way to make it work on Fantrax, but I will keep looking around. In any event, rest assured that the top 6 teams will make the playoffs and tie breakers will be the same as they were before.

The idea is that the teams moving down would be decided by the consolation bracket to keep things interesting for everybody.

Any way, we will have a consolation bracket, set up as follows:

2 Down:

7 and 8 get 1st round consolation byes (and would therefor be safe from a 2 team relegation)
9 plays 12
and 10 plays 11

The two losers of these first round match-ups would end up being the two teams who move down to the prospect league.

4 Down:

Like in the 2 down scenario, the losers of those first two match-ups are toast. In this scenario, however, the next round will determine the other 2 teams to go down.

winner of 10 vs 11 plays 7
winner of 9 vs. 12 plays 8

The teams who win these semifinal consolation games would be safe and the losers would be moving down to the Prospect League.

Anyhow, I know it seems a little complicated, but the interleague competition is a pretty cool wrinkle that keeps every team engaged until the end.

If anybody thinks I am missing the boat on something or is opposed to anything on here, please speak up. We will begin discussions on possible scoring changes after we finalize relegation.

I'm glad I don't have to do all of that thinking and figuring.......... But, what I understand, IF I understand, seems very fair. And thurough.

Sounds good to me. From what I have seen Fantrax keeps up with ABs and Hits so if you need someone to figure out the rate stats for the leagues let me know.
