I don't mind if league votes down the trade between Tlance and I, that was made yesterday.
Feel pretty shitty about flipping Braun so quick and then he's done before trade even goes through voting period.
Whatever league does is cool with me. Seriously.

IMO, this was a fully know risk. As such, all parties should just live with the outcome.

My vote can be had for 500 v-cash or a box of twinkies......or weed.

Ya know what, lets just stick with the weed and twinkies.

I didn't think there was any chance of Braun accepting the suspension. Crazy.

I was the original Braun owner, however, and was able to deal him for Marte and a Harvey rental, so it isn't that bad. I am just upset that I am literally giving Harvey to one of the team's already better than mine. Oh well. I need a miracle now.

I do. Bummer of a last name for a kid to have.

At least it is a last name though, meaning nothing was done on purpose. It is when the first name is odd or weird that makes me quesiton peoples thought processes.

Heard a great line by Scully about him one night. Don't remember it verbatim, but it was something along the lines of "Can you imagine growing up with a name like that?". With that smooth Vin Scully delivery, of course.:hail:

Yay, Yelich. My enthusiasm has been diminished a bit by the long wait. That, and the fact that they promoted the other guy as well. They sure do seem to have a lot of outfielders...

Quick on the draw with Melancon. I didn't notice Grilli was cheesed until it was too late. Come on Cubbies, keep those trades going and rid yourselves of Gregg next!

I wasn't expecting this but the timing couldn't be any better as I lost Holliday in my other league. I just hope he hits the ground running, or at the very least hits for average.

Marcell Ozuna and Derek Dietrich have been optioned to Double-A Jacksonville.

I've got Chapman, Kimbrel, Balfour & Benoit in my roto league but I grabbed Melancon anyway, basically as a cock block.

I have an interesting dilemma.
I've just been offered a trade in my keeper league, Evan Longoria for Allen Craig. I'm torn on this one for several reasons.

I have Votto & Goldschmidt filling 1st & Util and Zimmerman currently at 3rd so currently I have no place for him to play (no CI slot until next year).

Right now Craig is in my OF along with Shin-Soo Choo, Michael Brantley and Todd Frazier (Matt Holliday DL).
I've got Yelich on my bench but Frazier is my primary backup for the OF & 3B along with Lawrie (who now qualifies for 2nd/I have Altuve).

Both players are equal as far as runs, SB & OPS go. Longoria has double the HR's but Craig has the advantage in rbi's, BA & hits and he qualifies for the OF which is where I'll need help.
Trading Craig would mean Frazier (or Yelich) becomes my permanent 4th outfielder and I'm not comfortable with Frazier out their daily and Yelich still needs to prove himself.
Plus I really can't just go out and pick up someone as I only have 2 moves left for the year.

If I did do this, I would have to move Zimmerman for OF help, but he's lost some of his trade value with past/current injuries and isn't exactly hitting the cover off the ball right now so I'd more than likely get less than he's worth.

On the surface it seems like a no brainer, but after examining the numbers the only real advantage Longoria has over Craig is home runs.

One last thing, I'm currently in 1st with a 19.5 game lead on the second place team and a 25.5 game lead on the second place team in my division.

They say if it ain't broke don't fix it, and my team is anything but broke so why tinker.

____________________________________________________________________

On a side note, a trade went down about a month ago with Longoria & Bumgarner traded for Braun, Zimmerman & Gordon.
The guy that got Zimmerman traded him to me for Starlin Castro when Tolowitzki went down.
Now the guy that got Longoria is trying to trade him to me.
I guess I'm just the home for misfit 3rd basemen.

Longoria is a top 10 keeper.
Craig doesn't sniff that ranking.
Deal with positions later and take the steal of a lifetime.

Rev, i'm still trying to figure out why my team is not picking up any players...:what:

He's an old school manager. He always manages to put together a team that will compete, and he usually sticks with his players with little turn around. When he does pick someone up, it's usually a weekend pitcher or a brand name retread as he's not very rookie/youth oriented.

And, as you can see by some of the trades he proposes, he usually wants something for nothing.
Jason Castro & Marco Scutaro for Ryan Zimmerman, really?

I'm sorry to see him go but at the same time, I'm not. It will be good to have someone active in there next year.

I hear you, but unlike you I'm a huge Craig fan and he has been on my team since he came up.
I love Longoria but his injury prone body scares me. That's why I traded Cargo & Tulowitzki, great numbers but they're gonna miss time. Craig has missed time as well, but I find it easier to replace an outfielder for a month when an injury happens than it is to replace a 3rd baseman.

But the real bottom line and to put it in terms you'll appreciate more, he's that rookie you look at and see greatness despite what others think. He's a heart pick which complicates matters.

I actually admire the patience, it's something I need to work on. It just kills me to see Delmon Young on the roster, unless he's about to have a renaissance that I don't know about.

And I wouldn't have minded if you had accepted that trade.

Good thing I wasn't drinking when I saw it, I thought it said Starlin Castro instead of Jason Castro and was thinking of accepting it. :suds:
I thought the other guy was trying to get Zimmerman back and threw in Marco as interest on the SS rental.

Sigh...I hate closers. Hey Tlance, remember last year when we both thought Ryan Cook was gonna be The Next Big Thing?

He still could be, y'know...
