Players I badly misjudged this year: Ross Detwiler, James McDonald, Trevor Bauer and Lucas Duda. I really thought Detwiler had a chance to be a stud this year and Duda was gonna hit 30 HRs.

I can't add Braun to the list...that was just one big clusterfuck for everyone. :gaah:

Time to start thinking about next year.:scratch::scratch:

I've been doing that for about a month now. maybe a little longer. When Tulo went down the moral on my team went to shit, Hammy started chewing "tobacco" again (personally I think it's Coca leaves), CC and Naps have been eating Taco Bell every night and Wandy has had to learn to spank it right handed..........Case in point. Dipshit Lincy tosses a no-no. Nest outing? The rockets red fucking glare..............Finally looks like I beat you guys out on the wire for a solid arm; dude gets sent down the NEXT fucking day after throwing 7 innings of no hit ball. I don't give a SHIT what my wife says: I'm playing next year. I cannot go out like this. Fuck..................now I have to go ask the wife if I can play next year..........

Rev,

For the record, I think Longoria is one of the most overrated players in fantasy baseball. I would not do that deal.

Longo is a perennial top 12 pick, but should he be? His numbers are good, but not super-elite and the fact that he is somewhat injury prone makes me think he is more of a late 2nd round player than a top 12 guy.

Like you Rev, I love Craig for his flexibility and his production. He is capable of hitting for more power than he has this year, and quite honesty, I don't think Longo is that much better than Zimmerman to justify giving up a stud in a position of need. Craig is a great keeper also.

August 18th, so you've got a little over 3 weeks to play.

How does it work with the trade delay? It just needs to be accepted on trade deadline day, right?

So, they brought up Carlos Martinez for what exactly? Just starting to go 5-6 innings with ease in the minors and bring him up to fawk it up again by giving him a couple of innings out of the pen?

Sometimes I just don't get it.

This is the way I was leaning, but sometimes you see a name and the numbers get lost.
I think he's worth more to people because he plays 3rd and while he's an improvement over Zimm, it's not by a large margin.

Thanks everyone for all the input.

Philabuster, it seems like a 50-50 split with Price and Verlander.

I'm tellin' ya...it's all Kate Upton's fault. He needs to find Jennifer Lawrence's phone number, fast.

Price on the other hand? WHOA.

I like Craig just as much as Longoria, maybe more. Your team makeup, makes keeping Craig over Longoria an easy call...IMO.
Big Chew and the Fuzzies decided it was time to "shake it up a bit" so I got a trade in but still time to deal before next month. I have a bunch of mid tier pitching if someone needs a SP for the stretch. I could use an OF.

Hurts even more as a Tigers fan. Going to be a long 6 years if something doesn't give.

I was talking to a friend about JV the other day. He has been horribly overused the past 3 seasons. I saw a stat that he has thrown something well over 1000 more pitches than anyone else in baseball over the past 6 seasons. That is crazy.

This is what you get with ace pitchers. They lose a couple ticks for one reason or another, and they are suddenly mediocre. There are a long line of ace pitchers who have followed this path. Lincecum and Ubaldo Jimenez are recent examples. Although his crash and burn will not be as dramatic as the other 2, Verlander is next in that line IMO. I will not be drafting him anywhere next year.

I seem to recall making this argument when trying to back Strasburg as the better player to keep going into this season on the (see bee ess) boards. Not that Stras has been great this year, but it's more of a run support thing with him, aside from the rough April he had.

DUB not Braun

As a Brewers fan and the team owner of DUB I must say that the fantasy baseball team DUB uses is not on anything that produces tainted stats.... now DUB's fantasy football team could be a whole other story which I will plead the 5th about!!!:suds:
