oh, and by the way, THANK YOU VERY MUCH MR. LESTER!!! (insert the Adam Sandler clip from Billy Madison, thanking Ms. Lippy)

Lester is enjoying his new surroundings so far. Either that or he just saved his best for Chef

Wow, looking at TKO's team after this latest trade...Holy Crap!

Impressive job, sir!
thumb.gif

Thanks. The way TKO's team is looking, I am not sure how long I will be there. I am hoping for 5-4 this week.

Ahh shucks, thanks...

for the kiss of death!

... yeah, what I said here (above) -- you guys stifled my offense.

.. but I'm my own enemy at SP. I might "pay" for a closer if anyone's selling.

This week's match-ups present some nice upset opportunities for teams who are fighting for their playoff lives. There are no real marquee match-ups between 2 teams atop the standings, but there are still a few interesting things to watch for. Interestingly enough, the way that the initial week 6 match-ups went down look eerily similar to what should happen this week.

Grand Salami vs. Yellow Fuzzy- Grand 7, Fuzzy 3

When they last met, the Salamis won 7-1.

Pitching- The Fuzzies are punting saves this week, but they only have 2 more starts, so they don't have any pitching cats locked up. The Grand ones will win saves and have an edge when it comes to ERA and WHIP also. Ks and Wins could go either way.

Hitting- Not many advantages on the hitting side, as the 2 teams match-up well. The Salamis have the edge in HRs and the Fuzzies have the edge in BA. All other stats are too close to call, although the Salamis do have quite a few extra games, which could determine the counting stats.

Sarnia Tigers vs. Big League Chew- Sarnia 9, Chew 1

When they last met, Sarnia won 9 to 1. On paper, this one is fairly one-sided, but they play the games for a reason. Big League will need a great week to pull off the upset here.

Pitching- A couple of these cats could be close, but Sarnia has the advantage everywhere. He also has 2 more starts and 1 more closer.

Hitting- YTD stats show advantages to the Tigers in every hitting category except BA. That one is up for grabs.

TKOut vs. Dub- TKO 6, Dub 4

When they last met, TKO won 6 to 4.

Pitching- TKO should get wins and Ks with 4 extra starts. Dub has the advantage in saves, but that is far from a certainty. ERA and WHIP could go either way.

Hitting- Dub is one of the few teams who can claim a hitting edge over the mighty TKO squad. Dub is likely to win steals. TKO is a near lock to get HR and RBI, and runs and BA could go either way although it seems TKO is trending up in those categories as well.

Sportsboys vs. D Dude's Dodgers- Boys 6, Dude 4

When they last met, the Boys won (you guessed it) 6-4.

Pitching- The Boys have 3 more starts here, but potential trades could wipe out at least 1 of them. Still, the Boys seem likely to take Wins and Ks. Dude will win saves and is poised to grab a point for ERA too. WHIP could go either way.

Hitting- The Boys have advantages in the power categories and in runs scored, while Dude is a near lock to win steals. BA is the lone swing category on the offensive side.

Wolfpack vs. WHIP my FIP- Wolf 7, WHIP 3

When they last played, the Pack won 7-3. Are things finally looking up for the Pack?

Pitching- Amazingly, the Pack has 7 more starts than WHIP. I think it is safe to assume he will win Ws and Ks. It is equally safe to assume that WHIP will take control of the save category. ERA and WHIP could go either way.

Hitting- The Pack again has advantages in HR, RBI, and Runs. SB and BA are swing categories.

Soggy Bottom Boyz vs. Fudpuckers- Soggy 5, Fud 3

This match-up will be the most entertaining of all, hands down. I could make a case for either team winning 10-0 this week. There is nothing certain here, and both teams could use a resounding victory.

When they last met, naturally they tied 5-5.

Pitching- Both teams have 9 starts and 2 closers. Both teams also have closers who could be set-up guys by the end of the week. Neither team has a large advantage anywhere, but the Boyz should get Ks and ERA. Fud has a small advantage in WHIP.

Hitting- The Boyz have the edge in RBI, but the two teams are within 5% of each other in every other offensive category YTD. This one is going to be crazy close.

Enjoy the match-ups this week, and good luck to all. 6 weeks until the playoffs! Getting close.

Yes, our last place team is still 2nd in the roto standings. Makes no sense to me either.

Some corrections to your roto standings
(yahoo probably didn't update to include this week when you did this at 6 A.M.)

Week 16 Totals.png

4 of the top 6 teams in H2H are also in the top 6 in the roto rankings.
YellowFuzzy & The WolfPack (9th & 12 respectively in H2H) round out the top 6 point scorers.
The Salami's may be in 1st, but the Tigers are the top point earners.
The Sportsboys who are next to last also deserve more respect than their current H2H record.

On the other side of the coin we have WHIP out your FIP currently in 3rd place but 9th in the roto rankings, which could mean trouble come playoff time. DUB is another pretender contender. DUB has a playoff spot in reach but the roto numbers say better luck next year.

Could be that, or maybe I can't add. Either way, sorry I shorted you half a point.

BTW, I may have posted this like a long ass time ago, but last year in my FF money league, I was first in all play, 2nd in power rankings and was the overall points leader........................and missed the playoffs...............and I still like H2H better than a points system.

You're not alone, I prefer H2H as well.

How many more shutouts will the Rangers accept before they give Manny a tryout? Oh, so sorry to insult you David Murphy. According to a report on CBS, "Manny is unlikely to be recalled", and they'll "make a decision this week about his status in their system"... which begs the question, WTF were you doing bringing him in, in the first place??? just to see if he'd cut his hair?

I was kind of curious about that. Could be worth a minor league deal to find out. :laugh3:

The instructions on Manny are as follows: Allow out for use and public consumption only in the case of a Nelson Cruz roid suspension..........
