By the way, I know we would all gladly take Verlander's numbers today for any of our starters, but was he really dominant? This was easily his best outing of the season.

7 IP, 1 H, 3 BB, 3 K, 105 Pitches.

When Verlander is really rolling, it looks more like this:

9 IP, 2 H, 1 BB, 9 K, 105 Pitches.

His efficiency just isn't there. He is walking too many guys and although he didn't get hit today, I think that is more like the exception than the rule this year. Hopefully, this is the start of a strong second half, but I am not holding my breath. Today may be you best Verlander selling opportunity.

In fact, I am one of the few people that gets the question "How's it going or How are you feeling" and, I treat it like a real question, and provide a real honest answer every time.

And no, I have long stopped wondering why people no longer ask me these questions.

I can top that. 6 years ago I did a logo for one of the guys in my league. Last week I was looking around online for ideas for a logo for someone and I came across this one for the Billings Mustangs (I found out they redid their logo in 2009).

I still have the original bitmap and gif images I used for the original.
I'm seriously considering going after these fuckers.

Baseball players' association head Michael Weiner says the union will appoint a deputy executive director because of his health issues as he battles a brain tumor.

Weiner said last August that he had been diagnosed with the tumor and he said symptoms had increased in June. He currently can't move his right side or right arm and must use a wheelchair. His voice sounded gravely.

Speaking Tuesday to the Baseball Writers' Association of America, Weiner said a No. 2 will be appointed "within a week or two."
